Ja’Marr Chase 2021 NFL Draft Odds
“The 2021 NFL Draft starts at pick No. 3”. How many times have you heard that bit leading up to tomorrow’s first round? To me, the first three picks aren’t as interesting as the next three.
Picks 4, 5 and 6 are complete toss ups. Will Atlanta take Kyle Pitts or go with their QB of the future to take over for Matt Ryan? Does Cincinnati get Joe Burrow some protection? Who do the Dolphins like at No. 6?
If there is one player that is paying closest attention to those three picks, it’s likely former LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. He’s probably not going to go No. 4 to Atlanta, but I’d be shocked if he didn’t go five or six and it makes sense for a ton of different reasons.
Let’s take a look at where Ja’Marr Chase will end up on Thursday night.
Could Ja’Marr Chase Be The First Pick?
In short, no. But, that isn’t a knock on Chase. According to the 2021 NFL Draft First Pick odds market, and every single draft expert around, Trevor Lawrence will be the pick at No. 1, no matter what. Jacksonville desperately needs a QB and Lawrence has been the presumed first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft since he was about 17 years old.
But, Chase can take some pride in being the wide receiver with the shortest odds of going first overall, even if he’s currently priced at +2000 to go to Jacksonville at No. 1.
2021 NFL Draft Odds: 1st Overall Pick Odds
Player | Odds To Be First Pick | Implied % Chance |
---|---|---|
Trevor Lawrence | -10000 | 99% |
Zach Wilson | +2000 | 4.8% |
Justin Fields | +4000 | 2.4% |
Mac Jones | +10000 | 1% |
Ja’Marr Chase | +20000 | 0.5% |

Who Will Be 4th Overall Pick At The 2021 NFL Draft?
Like I said, the 2021 NFL Draft really starts at No. 4 overall, since that’s the first team that may not take a quarterback. Atlanta could take a tight end, a wide receiver or a signal caller. And, just 24 hours ahead of Round 1, tight end, aka Kyle Pitts, is leading the way and has moved to odds on.
So, while some Falcons fans may be looking to add a WR to their talented offense, it doesn’t look likely that Ja’Marr Chase will end up in Atlanta.
2021 NFL Draft Odds: Position of Atlanta Falcons First Pick Odds
Position | Odds To Be 4th Pick | Implied % Chance |
---|---|---|
Tight End | -140 | 58.3% |
Quarterback | +300 | 25% |
Wide Receiver | +1000 | 9.1% |
Offensive Lineman | +2000 | 4.8% |

Who Will Be 5th Overall Pick At The 2021 NFL Draft?
So, 4th overall pick looks unlikely for Ja’Marr Chase. But, that was always a long shot. What it really comes down to is 5th and 6th overall for the former LSU wideout.
First up, with the No. 5 pick in the NFL Draft, is the Cincinnati Bengals. I know Bengal fans are all hoping for a Burrow-Chase reunion following the insane numbers they each put up on their way to a national title, but I just don’t see it.
The Bengals need so much help on the offensive line and already have Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. You need to protect your franchise cornerstone or his seasons will always end in injury, like it did last year. Don’t make the flashy pick, make the pick that allows Burrow to sit back in the pocket and pick apart defenses. Rashawn Slater or Penei Sewell make the most sense here.
But, despite what I think, oddsmakers have penned wide receiver as the most likely postion for the Bengals to draft in round one. Right now, WR is -150 to be Cincinnati’s choice while OL sits at +180.

Which Team Will Draft Ja’Marr Chase in the 2021 NFL Draft?
Having said all that about how I don’t think the Bengals should take Chase and how they need to invest in their OL, Cincinnati is still the favorite to draft Chase in the first round.
The Cincinnati Bengals are -141 to take the former LSU WR, the only team at odds-on right now. Next up is the Miami Dolphins, who own the No. 6 pick after trading back from No. 3 to No. 12 with the 49ers and then trading up to six in a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
So, with a little over 24 hours remaining until draft time, it looks like either Cincinnati or Miami are the likely landing spots, with the Bengals holding a distinct edge.
