Same Game Parlays have changed the way we bet on sports, especially NFL football. So, Brian Good breaks down his Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Same Game Parlay picks ahead of Thursday's NFL season opener

Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Same Game Parlay Picks: Don’t Expect Defense

Do you know how hard it is for me to admit that I’m excited for a Cowboys game? As a lifelong Eagles fan, I despise Dallas, but the absence of NFL football for months at a time is enough to make me look forward to seeing the Cowboys out on the field. Sure, I’m hoping they lose by 50, but I’m still excited to have them out there.

We finally have a meaningful NFL game here as the Cowboys travel to Tampa to take on the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of my favorite ways to bet NFL games is the Same Game Parlay, so I’ve decided to break down a Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Same Game Parlay for opening night in the NFL.

Cowboys vs. Buccaneers Same Game Parlay Picks

3-Leg Same Game Parlay @ +512 - $50 wager wins $256.24

Same Game Parlay Leg 1: Over 51.5 @ -110

I have two general rules about betting on the NFL, and I’m breaking both those rules with the first leg of this Same Game Parlay. In general, I stay away from totals in Week 1 and I fade the public when possible. I’m doing neither here, but I have a good reason.

The first reason I love this total to go over is the Cowboys' defense is plain bad. Last year, through the first half of the season, we were asking ourselves if they were the worst defense we had ever seen in the NFL.

In response, Jerry Jones spent his first SIX picks of the 2021 NFL Draft on defensive players, but all those new pieces are going to take time to settle in. Tampa Bay is essentially a Pro-Bowl team on offense with Hall of Famers and top-tier talent all over. There is no reason the Buccaneers shouldn’t put 30+ points on this team.

As for the Cowboys' offense, we saw just how good they are when Dak Prescott was under center last season. In the four complete games Prescott played, they averaged 32.25 points per game. I’m looking for a ton of points tonight.

Same Game Parlay Leg 2: Dak Prescott over 294.5 passing yards @ -113

So we know just how bad the Dallas defense was last season, especially early on. But, we forget that in that same four-game span, Dak Prescott was shredding every single defense he went up against.

This total is set at 294.5 for Prescott, and while it is his first game since his devastating leg injury, I don’t expect that to slow him down at all.

Last year, in the four full games Prescott played, he averaged an absolutely insane 422.5 passing yards per game. He broke 400 yards in three of the four games played and even threw for 502 in a loss to Cleveland.

Now, this Tampa Bay defense is a good one, one of the best in the NFL, but we just need Prescott to get to around 300 yards, not 500, something he did with relative ease last season.

Same Game Parlay Leg 3: CeeDee Lamb anytime TD scorer @ +170

Seeing CeeDee Lamb in a Cowboys jersey still haunts me. I was so sure he was going to be an Eagle in 2020 that I had already started imagining him catching TD passes in the Linc on Sundays. Alas, now I am forced to hate him with a never-ending passion.

Still, I’m very aware of just how good CeeDee Lamb is. As a matter of fact, I think he’s already a better receiver than Amari Cooper.

Lamb caught 74 catches for 935 yards and five touchdowns last season. There is no reason that’s not more like 100 catches for 1,200+ yards and eight touchdowns this season. And, to make me even more confident in this anytime TD scorer as part of our Same Game Parlay, Lamb caught 2 TDS from Prescott the last time Prescott played a full game.
