New York Giants vs. Washington Football Team Same Game Parlay Picks: Both Offenses Set to Struggle
From the highest of highs last Thursday night after a matchup that featured two of the best offenses in the league, to the lowest of lows this time around as the Giants take on the Washington Football Team in DC. We’re back with more Same Game Parlay picks.
This game is going to be ugly. The Giants stink and WFT is without their No. 1 QB and No. 2 receiver, but even bad football is a good time. Plus, there is still a ton of value to be found on the board for this NFC East showdown. One of my favorite ways to bet NFL games is the Same Game Parlay, so I’ve decided to break down a New York Giants vs. Washington Football Team Same Game Parlay for Thursday Night Football.
New York Giants vs. Washington Football Team Same Game Parlay Picks
3-Leg Same Game Parlay @ +1357 - $50 wager wins $678.90
Same Game Parlay Leg 1: Under 40.5 @ -108
I treat the NFC East, specifically the Giants and Washington Football Team, the same way I treat the Big 10. I expect punts, tons of rushing attempts and a general lack of coordination on the offensive side of the ball. Sure, the defense will look good, but we’ll probably also get a blunder that makes everyone scratch their head come Thursday.
If Ryan Fitzpatrick and Curtis Samuel were playing, I’m still not sure we’d get over 40 points. Without them, we may not see 35.
I think Washington is the much better team here and will win on Thursday. Taylor Heinicke is also a decent backup, but he NEVER scores points. No, really. Taylor Heinicke has played significant time in four NFL games. In those games, his team has scored 10, 13, 23 and 16 points. Heinicke has broken 20 points one time and averages 15.5 points per game.
As for the Giants, they put up 13 points on Denver at home last week. Denver is a good defense, but Washington’s is a legitimate top-3 defensive unit in the NFL. There is a real chance we see a 14-10 Washington win on Thursday Night Football.
Same Game Parlay Leg 2: Logan Thomas Anytime TD Scorer @ +190
I gave out three NFL Same Game Parlays last week. All three of them featured an anytime TD scorer and all three of those players (CeeDee Lamb, AJ Brown and Jarvis Landry) scored. We’re back there again this Thursday with Logan Thomas.
I already said I’m not expecting many points to be scored, so it may seem odd to have an anytime TD scorer. But, Washington will get in the end zone this week. This New York defense got picked apart by Teddy Bridgewater and I expect Washington to move the ball decently at times.
I also don’t think we’ll see any long TDs from WFT, so a guy like Terry McLaurin comes off the board for me. But, Thomas is a reliable red zone target. It’s likely we see Antonio Gibson march the ball down the field and Heinicke look to Thomas to punch it in when the team gets close to the goal line, like he did last week.
Same Game Parlay Leg 3: Daniel Jones over 21.5 yards rushing @ -128
Daniel Jones is someone I see as a high-variance player. Sometimes he looks really good, sometimes he throws three picks. I do believe he’s improved as a starter and looked decent in the loss to Denver last week. But I also think he’s going to have a terrible time against this Washington defense, specifically their defensive front, led by Chase Young.
Here’s the thing that most people don’t talk about. Daniel Jones is a good athlete. Is he also clumsy? Yes, remember he once tripped over his own feet in primetime against the Eagles on a sure touchdown. But, Daniel Jones uses his feet a lot. Last week, he ran the ball six times for 27 yards.
When nothing is open downfield, Jones won’t hesitate to tuck it and go. And, I’m predicting things will be open downfield very rarely come Thursday night.
