The Seattle Seahawks impressed on the road in a win over the Colts. Here's why they can do it again in Week 2.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Tennessee Titans Week 2 Predictions: Against the Spread, Total, and Props

The Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans could not have started their season any differently in 2021. For Seattle, they downright dominated the Colts 28-16 and Russell Wilson did Russell Wilson like things.

For Tennessee, they hosted the usually inconsistent Arizona Cardinals. Well, they got their doors blown off. Derrick Henry had just 58 yards on 3.4 yards per carry and Ryan Tannehill threw for a pedestrian 212 yards (6.1 yards per attempt).

With the Seahawks heading back home, can we expect another beatdown or will the Titans get it in gear out in Seattle?

Tennessee Titans vs Seattle Seahawks Odds

Tennessee Titans Preview

With Julio Jones in the mix, the Titans were supposed to have this new and improved dynamite offense. Well in Week 1 that couldn’t be any further from reality. They scored just 13 points and Julio Jones had a costly penalty early on in the game.

While a 38-13 loss on your home field is embarrassing, it’s not the end of the world for Tennessee who is looked at as a potential division winner in the AFC South. They’ve made the playoffs each of the past two seasons and have finished with nine wins or more every year since 2016.

I don’t expect Mike Vrabel’s team to roll over and die, so expect a much better effort in Week 2 from the Titans.

Seattle Seahawks Preview

It’s just unfair how good Russell Wilson is. He threw for 254 yards on just 23 attempts (11.0 yards per attempt) and completed 78.2 percent of his passes on the day. As for Chris Carson, he too had a good day on the ground running for 5.7 yards per carry and 91 yards.

Arguably, the most impressive part was the improvement on defense. The Seahawks sacked Carson Wentz three times and caused him to lose a fumble. Last year, the defense was uncharacteristically bad but they got off to a good start in Week 1.

With the 12th man back in full force, the home-field advantage should come into play here for Seattle in Week 2.

Tennessee Titans vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Since 2020, the Seahawks are 4-1 against the spread in non-conference games. Over this same span, they’re also 6-3 as a home favorite. If you’re someone who prefers the Titans, they’re 9-8-1 in the Mike Vrabel era ATS after a loss.

As away underdogs, they’re slightly better going 8-6 and having an ATS +/- of 4.9 in those games played.

Even with the impressive ATS +/- for Tennessee, I’m sticking with the home favorite. Russell Wilson at home is too scary for me, even with the number at -5.5 for the Seahawks. Seattle is going to have to keep pace with Los Angeles and San Francisco in a very tough division this year, every game matters.

While the Titans could probably win their division with nine or 10 wins. There’s more pressure on the Seahawks, who are the more complete team. If you’re considering a play on the over, Tennessee is exceptional at hitting overs.

Since the start of 2021, they’ve hit 70.6 percent of the time going 12-5-1. Seattle is just 8-10 against overs in that time but with the game likely playing to the more offensive side, I like the over at 54 also.
