The Rams were dominant in their Week 1 victory over the Bears. Now they travel to Indy to take on the Colts. Can they repeat their performance? Tom Viera gives us his Colts vs. Rams prediction and pick.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Rams Week 2 Predictions: Against the Spread, Total, and Props

The Rams had the NFL’s top-scoring defense in 2020. Now, they might just have an offense to go with it! On Sunday night football the Rams defeated the Bears decisively 34-14. On the other hand, their Week 2 opponents the Indianapolis Colts, dropped to 0-1 with a 28-16 loss to the Seahawks.

The Rams are currently priced as -3.5 favorites for this Sunday's game. The Colts had a disappointing Week 1 and things might not get any easier here in Week 2.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Rams Odds

Indianapolis Colts Preview

The Colts dropped their home opener in Week 1 but there's no need to panic on them just yet. The most important piece of the puzzle is Quarterback Carson Wentz. He suffered an injury setback in August and has fought his way to be ahead of schedule. Wentz actually put on a good performance in Week 1. He went 25/38 for 251 yards and 2 TDs and 0 interceptions.

The biggest concern for the Colts was they really failed to get the running game going. They couldn't establish the run, Jonathan Taylor had 17 carries for just 56 yards. Last season the Colts had the NFL's second-best run defense but they allowed Seattle to rush for 5.2 yards a carry. Their secondary wasn't any better, allowing four passing touchdowns that seemed to come too easy for Russell Wilson in Week 1.

Los Angeles Rams Preview

Rams Head Coach Sean McVay put his new toy on display for the world to see on Sunday night when the Rams crushed the Bears on primetime. That new toy is Quarterback Matthew Stafford. He went 20-of-26 for 321 yards and three touchdowns in his Los Angeles debut. The Rams only had more passing yards than that in a game three times last season.

Stafford had the highest-rated QB grade in play-action last week, per PFF, and already looks like a great fit in McVay’s offense. The Rams are currently priced behind just the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to reach the Super Bowl at +700. There has been a ton of hype around them all offseason and they seem to look the part through just one week.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction

The Rams' new pair of Stafford and McVay appears to be a match made in heaven and the rest of the NFL better be put on notice. The Colts struggled running the ball in Week 1 but that may change this Sunday. The Rams gave up more than 100 rushing yards to Bears running back David Montgomery, so Taylor and the Colts run game could get some traction this Sunday. This Colts defense should be way better than it performed in Week 1. The Rams and Stafford provide the ultimate litmus test for any defense though. I think the Rams are the real deal and they show us again this Sunday.

The player prop I like for this game is Jonathan Taylor Over 14.5 rushing attempts. In Week 1 he totaled 17 carries. I think it has to be in the Colts game plan to try to establish the run and keep the ball away from the Rams offense. Going back to last season he has topped this number 7 out of his last 8 games.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Rams Picks

Rams -3.5 (-104)

Favorite Player Prop: Jonathan Taylor Over 14.5 Rushes (-110)
