Sunday Night Football Week 2 Same Game Parlay Picks: Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chief
The Kansas City Chiefs have owned the Baltimore Ravens during the Patrick Mahomes era. K.C. is 3-0 and more specifically, Patrick Mahomes has been downright dominant in those performances. The Chiefs enter fresh off a comeback win while the Ravens are limping in on a short week.
Baltimore will be without Chris Westry who tore his lateral meniscus in Week 1, and we know they already lost Marcus Peters for the season. With the high-flying Chiefs' offense coming to town this could be a long night for the Ravens.
Let’s see if we can make some cash with a three-leg same-game parlay for Sunday Night Football.
The first part of this play is very simple, the Chiefs have to cover the spread for the game. Kansas City hasn’t been kind to gamblers covering the spread just 41.2 percent of the time since the start of last season but all signs point to a dominant Chiefs performance.
In two of the three games against the Ravens in the Mahomes era, they’ve won by three points or more. Also, I know we talked about the Ravens' injuries already but they will be without Left Tackle Ronnie Stanley here as well.
For an offensive line that struggled in Week 1, missing your All-Pro caliber left tackle isn’t going to help anything.
Chiefs first team to 30 points
11 times since the 2020 season started the Chiefs have eclipsed the 30 point mark in a game including last week. With the Ravens' secondary banged up, expect the Chiefs to try to attack down the field.
With both Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill in the lineup, the Chiefs should have no issue getting the ball down the field on this defense. For reference, Derek Carr went for 435 yards and two touchdowns last week.
No disrespect to Carr but he’s not in the same tier as Patrick Mahomes, who is on a tier on his own. Scoring should come as second nature to Kansas City in this Sunday night matchup.
Ravens over 19.5 points
This piece has been very Chiefs heavy, which is understandable considering what they’ve done against Baltimore in the past but that doesn’t mean we can’t use Baltimore in this play. For the final leg, I have the Ravens over 19.5 points.
Even in a game in which they struggled and made mistakes, they still scored 27 points. Only three times last year did they score under 20 points and one of those times was against the Bills in a playoff game where Lamar Jackson got hurt.
Last week, the Ravens' offense thrived when they let Lamar Jackson run. He rushed for 86 yards on 12 carries and with the lapses on the offensive line, they’ll likely need him to continue to run the ball to have success on offense.
