Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers NFL Week 3 Same-Game Parlay Pick
Both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs are coming off losses in Week 2 and sport a 1-1 record. This AFC West rivalry game should be a good one as it features two of the best young quarterbacks in the game with Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes taking center stage.
For Los Angeles, the offense needs to get back in gear after only scoring 17 against the Cowboys. The Chiefs, just need to stop bleeding points, and then they should be fine from there once that gets sorted out.
Will it be Mahomes and the Chiefs bouncing back here in Week 3, or can we expect an upset from the new kid on the block? Here’s a three-leg same game parlay for this Chargers vs Chiefs matchup.
Chiefs Race To 30 Points
Death, taxes, and the Chiefs dropping 30 points on you all are inevitable in this life. Okay, well the first two definitely are the last part remains to be seen but they’ve done it twice this year and 10 times last season so the chances are probably pretty high.
Although to the Chargers credit, they did hold the Chiefs to 23 and 21 points in their matchups last season but one of them was a Week 17 game where the Chiefs started Chad Henne at the QB position.
With the weapons on offense, it shouldn’t matter to K.C. at home this week. The Chargers are top half of the league in both points allowed and yards for but to be fair, Washington and Dallas aren’t the explosive offenses that Kansas City provides.
Okay, this is kind of a big number. The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been great against the spread in recent memory and have started 0-2 but after a loss, they’ve been much better. The Chiefs are 6-4 ATS after a loss in the Mahomes era with an average margin of victory of 10.8 points.
In theory, that should be enough to get the job done against a division rival. In five career starts against the Chargers, Mahomes is 4-1 and has beaten them by 6.5 or more points three times. After a loss, the Bolts are just 4-5 ATS (44.4 percent) since the start of 2020.
Through two games this year the Chiefs are averaging 34 points and last year on the season they were at 29.6 points per game. The point being, the Chiefs score a ton of points and they have for years.
As for the Chargers, they have just 37 points on the season but on paper, they have the potential to have a good offense. Think about it, Justin Herbert’s throwing at an alarming clip so far, the points will come eventually.
Plus, with the Chiefs giving up a combined 65 points in two weeks this looks like the perfect time for a breakout week. Give me something like a 35-26 final score in favor of the Chiefs. If all three of these hit, you’re looking at a +275 return.
