In what could be the game of the year, Matt O'Leary gives his same-game parlay picks for Rams vs Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Los Angeles Rams Same-Game Parlay Picks

No, it’s not hyperbole to call this game one of the games of the year. The Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are two of the best teams in the NFC this year and this could easily be the NFC Championship game in a few short months.

For Tampa Bay, they’ve won 10 games in a row dating back to last season and look to be unstoppable again in 2021. Tom Brady, now at 44 years old, is still doing the thing with nine passing touchdowns through two games. It’s simply unbelievable.

As for the Rams, the hype is real when it comes to the Mathew Stafford impact. It’s only been two games but the Stafford and Sean McVay duo has been impressive. Will the Rams defense be able to contain Tom Brady, or will we see the GOAT continue his unbelievable run?

For this potential game of the year, here’s a four-leg same-game parlay.

Matthew Stafford Over 249.5 yards

Buccaneers vs Rams Betting Odds

In his first two games as a Ram, Stafford is averaging 299.5 yards per game. Dating back to last year, Stafford has had over 250 yards in 11 of his last 18 starts. With Vita Vea clogging up the middle for the Bucs defense, it’ll be wise for them to throw the ball against this team.

The Rams loved to throw the ball last year, as they were 12th overall with 590 pass attempts. With a higher ceiling QB, there’s no reason to believe that Staff shouldn’t get to air it out and hit his yardage prop.

Tom Brady Over 249.5 yards

Buccaneers vs Rams Betting Odds

Give me both of the QB’s hitting 250 yards! He’s eclipsed the number both times last year and 10 times in the regular season last year he hit the number for the Bucs offense. Last year against the Rams, Brady struggled throwing for just 216 yards and two interceptions.

That was before they hit their stride though. With how he’s been playing since the bye week of 2020 he should be able to eclipse 250 passing yards fairly easily.

Over 55.5 points

Buccaneers vs Rams Betting Odds

Give me the points! I know that the Rams defense was best in the league last year. Through two games, the Rams currently rank eighth while the Buccaneers are sitting at 21st overall which is a step back for them.

I’m sorry, if I’m buying into the Brady and Stafford hype how can I not take the over in this game. Hopefully, from an entertainment standpoint, we’re looking at like a 34-31 game which would hit the over fairly comfortably.

Both teams have hit the over so fair in each of their games. The Rams are +2.8 on their total +/- while Tampa is sitting at +14.2.

Buccaneers -1.5

Buccaneers vs Rams Betting Odds

Last but certainly not least, the Buccaneers have to cover the 1.5 point spread. As long as it’s not a one-point win, which is fairly rare in the NFL, then the Bucs would be in good shape when covering.

It’s a coin flip, with the Bucs at 4-4 against the spread as road favorites in the Tom Brady era. The Bucs have been fairly good as an away team against the spread sitting at a 54.5 percent cover percentage.

As for the Rams, they’re 2-2 as an underdog since the start of last year. They’ve played and covered well as a home team (6-3) but I can’t find myself picking against Tom Brady in this one. Give me the Bucs to cover and extend their streak.

If all four legs of this hit, you’re looking at a +320 return on your money. Check out the books that offer same-game parlays below.
