Four NFL Week 4 Bets You Need to Make Right Now
It’s never too early to start looking at next week’s slate. There’s one more game left for Week 3, with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football before the focus shifts entirely to Week 4.
Before the public makes that transition, here are four bets that you should look at placing early before we see any of the lines change.
WFT +1 over Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons should not be favored over anyone. Sure, they’re coming off a road win over the Giants, who are 0-3 and are tied for the worst record in football since the start of 2017 but beating the Giants is nothing to write home about.
Washington got spanked in Week 3 by the Bills 43-21 so I understand why people are cold on them but to back the Falcons seems like a pure reactionary move. The Falcons are averaging just 16 points per game so far and Matt Ryan hasn’t exactly looked like himself.
Plus, Atlanta’s defense gave up 32 and 48 points in the first two weeks. Sure, they looked better against the Giants but seemingly everyone except for Washington is able to beat up on New York. Plus, Taylor Heinicke’s played decent football in the absence of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Get on this line before oddsmakers come to their senses.
Titans -7.5 over Jets
The Jets have scored six points in their last eight quarters of football. The offense is embarrassingly bad, again, and they really didn’t show anything in Week 3 to make you believe they’d turn it around anytime soon.
After an ugly loss in Week 1, the Titans look like they’ve hit their stride offensively scoring 33 and 25 each of the last two weeks. Sure, the defense has given up a ton of points, 84 through three games (25th in the league) but this screams as a get right defensively game for them.
Since the start of last year, the Jets are 6-13 against the spread with a -13.9 margin of victory. Get on this number before it approaches double digits.
Buccaneers -6.5 over Patriots
Man, this game is going to be filled with storylines. Tom Brady vs Bill Belicheck who comes out on top? Well, after a loss the Tom Brady Buccaneers are an impressive 5-0 with an average margin of victory of 14.8.
Sure, maybe Bill has some tricks up his sleeve but am I really to believe that Mac Jones is ready to go toe to toe with the greatest of all time?
Winning by a touchdown is a big ask on the road, but a motivated Tom Brady is scarier than having to cover a seven-point spread. Sorry, Bill, I think Brady gets the last laugh. I mean, it’s only been two decades of that already.
Panthers +4.5 over Cowboys
The Cowboys haven’t played their Week 3 game but they currently sit at 1-1. The Panthers have opened their season 3-0 with wins over the Jets, Saints, and Texans. Sure, the Texans and Jets wins aren’t necessarily impressive but 3-0 is 3-0.
The Panthers’ defense has been one of the best in football allowing just four total touchdowns in three games and creating three turnovers so far, The Cowboys have the potential for the best offense that they’ve faced so far but they haven’t really hit their stride yet.
The Eagles have a great defense, so if for whatever reason they struggle again offensively there’s a good chance this line becomes smaller. Getting the Panthers at +4.5 sounds like a gift right now. Expect this one to be much closer by the time kickoff rolls around on Sunday.
