On Sunday, we’ll have a meeting of two NFC West teams that have yet to lose a game this year. Both Arizona and Los Angeles are sitting at 3-0 and are legit contenders. For Los Angeles, they’re fresh off a win over the defending champion Buccaneers.
Arizona has been on fire, averaging 34.3 points per game as Kyler Murray takes his game to another level. Outside of a clunker to the Vikings defensively, Arizona has been pretty good on the defensive side of the ball holding both the Titans and Jaguars under 20 points.
Arizona Cardinals Preview
It’s the Kyler Murray show right now in Arizona. He’s averaging 335 yards per game throw the air and has seven passing touchdowns already. On the ground, you could add another three rushing touchdowns as well for 10 total touchdowns in three games.
Surprisingly, it’s Rondale Moore, Christian Kirk, and A.J. Green leading the way in receiving yards with DeAndre Hopkins at just 158, but to the All-Pro’s credit, he has three touchdowns to his name already.
Chandler Jones picked up where he left off with five sacks already, and their defense ranks 11th in both points allowed and yards allowed. All in all, this is a good football team every bit deserving of their 3-0 record.
Los Angeles Rams Preview
The Rams hype is real too. Matthew Stafford has been unleashed with Sean McVay and it’s truly a sight to see. Stafford averages 314 yards through the air per game and has nine touchdowns to just one interception so far.
Cooper Kupp has been just unbelievable with 367 yards and five receiving touchdowns out of the gate for the receiving core. Their offense ranks third in the league in points for and 13th in terms of yards gained.
Defensively, they haven’t been as dominant ranking ninth in points against and 20th in yards against but they have more than enough talent to get by. Jalen Ramsey is still a lockdown corner and Aaron Donald is still an opposing Quarterback’s worst nightmare.
Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview
Both the Rams and Cardinals are 2-1 against the spread this year through three weeks. Arizona has an ATS +/- of 9.7 while L.A. is sitting at a +6.8. In layman’s terms, both of these teams have covered pretty easily week in and week out.
As a home favorite since 2018, the Rams have covered 59.1 percent of the time. Plus, they’re really good against divisional opponents. McVay’s Rams are 12-6-1 ATS in the division since the start of that season as well.
For Arizona, both Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury have been excellent in situations as the away underdog. They’re 8-3-2 ATS for a cover percentage of 72.7 in those games. This will surely be a classic battle between two quality opponents.
Despite the success of Arizona on the road in these situations, I can’t pick against Los Angeles. I’m all in on the McVay and Stafford train and until it fails me, I’m not getting off anytime soon.
