NFL Week 4 Odds, Lines, Picks, Predictions, Where To Watch: New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans

The New York Jets have picked up right where they left off in 2020. So far, they’re averaging just over 6 points per game and the offense is by far the worst in football. At this second, the Sam Darnold and Adam Gase swap for Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson hasn’t worked yet.

Tennessee started their season slow in Week 1 with a demoralizing 38-13 loss to the Cardinals. Since then, the offense has looked every bit the part scoring 33 and 25 points over the past two weeks. Plus, they finally got a bounce-back performance on defense in Week 3.

Will Tennessee continue to roll or will the Jets somehow find a way to win their first game of the season here in Week 4?

So far, it’s been a struggle for Zach Wilson who has seven picks through the team’s first three games. It’s not all on him as the play-calling has been awful and his offensive line and receivers have been underperforming as well.

They have just two touchdowns through three games. But, on the defensive side of the ball, they’ve been really steady. They’re 10th in the league in yards allowed and 14th in points against. The young corners have played well and the pass rush is doing enough to get home.

The main culprit of this team struggling so much is the offense and it doesn’t look like that’s changing anytime soon.

After a slow start in Week 1, Derrick Henry came alive the past two weeks. He had 182 yards and three scores in Week 2 and last week he had 113 yards on the ground against the Colts defense. As for the quarterback, Ryan Tannehill hasn’t been himself.

Sure, he had three passing touchdowns last week but he had just 197 yards through the air and two interceptions too. If there was ever a get-right game, right now beating up on the Jets seems like the way to do it.

For their defense, they allowed 30 points or more in the first two weeks but settled in nicely allowing just 16 to a beat-up Carson Wentz. With the Jets’ struggles on the o-line and under center, don’t expect Tennessee to allow much to the Jets.

New York Jets vs Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

So far this year, the Jets are 0-3 against the spread and have an average margin of victory of -16.7, by far the worst in the league. Their ATS +/- is -10.2 and if you want to go back further, since the start of 2020 the Jets have covered just 31.6 percent of the time, the worst in football.

Tennessee hasn’t been great against the spread, just 9-11 and the numbers aren’t pretty for games where they are favored on the road. They’re 1-4 ATS (covering 20 percent of the time) since the start of 2020 but these trends don’t scare me off, even at the 7.5 number.

Considering the Titans are averaging 24 points per game, the Jets would have to get to 17 in order to cover the number. Do you see the Jets getting to that number because they’ve shown me nothing to believe that they can through three weeks.

New York Jets vs Tennessee Titans Pick

NFL Pick: Titans -7.5 (-110)
