San Francisco 49ers Record: 2-1

The NFC West is the best division in football right now and I don’t think it’s even debatable. This week, we’re treated to two NFC West matchups with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks traveling to San Francisco to take on the 49ers.
For San Francisco, they’re coming off a difficult loss at home to Green Bay on a last-second field goal. As for Seattle, they’ve lost back-to-back games and are trying to avoid falling even further behind in the division race.
Seattle Seahawks Preview
After starting their season out with a win over the Colts in Week 1, the Seahawks have sputtered the last two weeks. A second-half meltdown in Week 2 resulted in an overtime loss to Tennessee while last week they just flat out got beat by Minnesota.
Right now the defense is a cause for concern as they’ve allowed 63 points over the past two weeks. They’re one of the worst teams in football against the run as they rank 31st in rushing attempts against and 30th in yards allowed.
With the exception of last week, the offense has been solid. Russell Wilson has seven touchdowns already and is completing 73.3 percent of his passes with a 10.4 yards per attempt. It’s not the offense that’s the issue for Seattle.
San Francisco 49ers Preview
With wins over Detroit and Philadelphia to start their season, the 49ers were in for a rude awakening with Green Bay coming to town last week. They almost pulled it off but ultimately Aaron Rodgers did his thing in the end setting up the game-winning field goal.
The 49ers’ defense has been right at league average, ranking 16th in both points against and yards against. As for the offensive side of the ball, they’ve struggled in the passing game but have been good running the ball which isn’t a surprise if you know this offense.
Against this Seattle defense, they’ll likely try to run the ball with their running back by committee approach.
Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers Betting Preview
Through the first three weeks of the season, San Fran has looked like the better team. I just have one thing that’s steering me away from them right now. Russell Wilson. Since he’s taken over at quarterback going back to 2012, the Seahawks have never lost three games in a row.
Wilson is 14-4 in his career against the 49ers and has just two losses since the start of the 2014 season against them. Last year, he was 2-0 and threw six touchdown passes to the tune of a 95.8 rating.
I think this will be a close game and at +3 for Seattle, it gives you an out if San Francisco ends up winning by a field goal.
