TNF Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams: Top Anytime TD Scorer Bets
Week 4 started out with a bang when we connected on a couple of longshots last Thursday. It's difficult to find those same types of value plays for Week 5's Thursday night game but I think we have found the best selections to get us going. With four full weeks of NFL games under our belts, we finally have some real statistics to base our anytime touchdown picks off of.
With a point total currently set at 54.5, the second-highest of all of the Week 5 games, there should be no shortage of touchdowns in this one.
Here at Oddschecker, we compare odds from every game including the anytime touchdown markets. We find you the best odds for your bets.
Seahawks vs. Rams Top Anytime TD Scorer Bets
Darrell Henderson (+116)
Seattle has allowed the most rushing yards on the season to opposing running backs (514 yards). That number balloons to 813 yards if you include receiving yards allowed. Seattle has allowed three rushing scores to running backs through the first four weeks. Henderson has scored in 2 of 3 games he’s played in so far. Henderson is a legit workhorse. In his two full games this year, Henderson has played 110-of-120 snaps while seeing 30-of-34 running back carries. He has also seen 100 percent of the running back targets AND 100 percent of the running back touches inside both the 10 and the 5-yard lines. I am also on Henderson to go over his rushing total of 63.5 yards.
Gerald Everett (+385) or Will Dissly (+360)
I'm listing both here because Everett is the ideal pick if he plays but he is questionable due to testing positive a week ago for Covid-19. He has a chance to play still though with one negative test before the game. If he is ruled out the play becomes Dissly so just sit tight on the news for Everett before placing this one. The Rams have been one of the worst teams defending the tight end position so far. They’ve allowed the third-most receiving yards (302) and the fourth most catches (26). Opposing teams have targeted the tight end the second most in the league against the Rams (37 targets). This may have a lot to do with the talent the Rams possess on the outside defending wide receivers so teams attack the Rams via the tight ends. Last week with Everett sidelined, Dissly logged 82 percent of snaps. I will update this tomorrow upon the news we get of Everett.
Russel Wilson (+365)
Russ ran for his first touchdown of 2021 last week. He hasn’t rushed for many scores the last couple of seasons but if there’s a pass rush that will flush him out of the pocket it's the Rams. We can expect him to take off on a few occasions. Last year he scampered for 50 yards against the Rams in their postseason matchup. He also ran for a touchdown in last season's game against the Rams at home. In their meeting in LA in 2020, Wilson rushed 8 times for 60 yards. So it’s simple to see he’s had success running against the Rams defense. Maybe one of those runs will result in a touchdown for us.
Tyler Higbee (+220)
The Seattle defense also ranks in the bottom half of the league defending the tight end position. Not as bad as the Rams but that’s because Seattle gets obliterated by opposing wide receivers weekly. The Seahawks have allowed a tight end to score the last two weeks. Ross Dwelley of the 49ers last Sunday and Tyler Conklin of the Vikings in Week 3. Seattle’s opponents have targeted the tight end position the fifth most in the NFL (33 targets). Higbee trails only Kupp and Woods on the Rams in snaps played (87.7 percent). He also trails just Kupp and Woods in targets. He is tied with wide receiver Van Jefferson for third in targets with 18. His catch rate of 83.3 percent though is the best on the Rams. Higbee has 5 red-zone targets converting one for a score so far.
