We've seen some alarming Thursday Night Football betting trends this season. Brian Good breaks down which trends you should be paying attention to with his Rams vs. Seahawks predictions

Thursday Night Football Betting Trends: Rams vs. Seahawks Predictions Based On Trends

This week’s Thursday Night Football game features a clash of NFC West foes as the Seattle Seahawks take on the Los Angeles Rams. This matchup has become somewhat of a rivalry in the past decade or two but we’ve never seen this iteration of it. Long gone are the days of the Legion of Boom, and Jared Goff is playing QB about 2,000 miles East of LA.

We’ve never seen Matthew Stafford take on the Seahawks as a member of the Los Angeles Rams, so we don’t know exactly what we can expect come Thursday Night. But, we do have some decent Thursday Night Football betting data to this point that we can lean on and hopefully come up with a few winners.

Rams vs. Seahawks Predictions – Thursday Night Football Betting Trends

The over is 2-2 on Thursday Night Football this season

Right off the bat, we get a toss-up. But, if you use some nuance when you look at the numbers I think you’ll notice the same trend I have. In four Thursday Night Football games this season, the over has hit twice and the under has hit twice. In Week 1 and Week 2, the game went over, in Week 3 and Week 4, it went under.

However, the Week 3 under in Houston vs. Carolina hit because Davis Mills started at QB, something that should offend everyone that watched that game, and Christian McCaffrey got hurt early. In Week 4, the total was 46 points and the Bengals beat the Jags 24-21. We’re one point and a bad Davis Mills start away from four straight overs hitting on Thursday Night Football.

I think defenses struggle with the short week far more than offenses. The over/under for Rams vs. Seahawks sits at 54.5, and while that is a lot of points I think we see a shootout between two of the better offenses in football.

Bet: Over 54.5 @ -108

Home teams are 0-4 ATS on Thursday Night Football this season

Listen, I was betting on the Rams this week anyway. But, now you’re telling me that literally every single road team has covered this year on Thursday Night Football? I’m thinking I may make it my lock of the week.

What makes this play even better is that earlier in the week, Los Angeles was a 3-point favorite to beat the Rams on Thursday Night Football. But, that number is down to 2.5 now, meaning we just need the Rams to win by a field goal to cover.

The Rams, for the first time all season, looked mediocre last week, but what better way to fix that than by going up against a Seahawks defense that, outside of Week 1 against a bad Colts team, has looked bad?

Give me Stafford over Wilson is a shootout come Thursday night.

Bet: Rams -2.5 @ -110

QBs have rushed for a touchdown three straight weeks on Thursday Night Football

Okay, you caught me. I’m officially grasping at straws. I love the over and I love the Rams, but now I’ve also convinced myself that we’re getting a QB rushing TD come tomorrow night. Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold and Trevor Lawrence have all rushed for a TD in the past three Thursday Night Football games.

Russell Wilson is +300 as an anytime TD scorer and Matthew Stafford is +550. I’m covering all possibilities and backing both come Thursday night. If Russ runs one in and Stafford doesn’t, I’m still up 2 units. If Stafford manages to belly flop over the goal line, I’m up 4.5 units. And, if they both manage to somehow score, then I’m retiring early. Win-win-win.
