Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Jets: Same-Game Parlay Picks

The Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets head to London to display some mediocre football to our friends across the pond. Unfortunately, two 1-3 teams isn’t really the best the NFL has to offer but there’s a good chance that this will be a fun and entertaining game all things considered.

The Jets offense finally looked competent in Week 4 as Zach Wilson had a monster second half littered with highlight-reel throws. As for the Falcons, well with Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley they have the name recognition on offense to move the needle.

For this week, I have a huge same-game parlay for you that could payout at +525 if it hits. Let’s get into it starting with the first leg.

Leg 1: Zach Wilson over 249.5 passing yards

In every single game this season, the Atlanta Falcons have allowed the opposing quarterback to go over 250 passing yards. They currently have the worst defense in football and have allowed 30+ points in three of their four games.

Zach Wilson is coming off the best game of his young career with 297 passing yards against Tennessee. In two of his four games, he’s cleared 250 yards and with the kind of defensive performance that the Falcons have had throughout the season one would anticipate another good game offensively from him.

The Jets haven’t had much of a run game to show for, so with the pass being a more efficient option for them, 250 yards sounds like a fairly achievable thing.

Leg 2: Over 46.5 Points

This number sounds way too low for a team that has allowed on average 32 points a game. Now I get it, the Jets have the 32nd ranked offense but when you look at their struggles it was against the Panthers, Patriots, and Broncos. All three of those teams are top-six in defense in the NFL.

Considering that the Falcons on average allow 32 points against, that would leave them with only needing 15 points to hit the over. Now, I don’t know if the Jets are hitting 32 points in this contest but will each team clear 23 points? I think so.

The Jets’ defense has been solid so far this season, ranking 14th but they may struggle to contain Cordarrelle Patterson. Outside of CJ Mosley, they sport a very inexperienced linebacker core. If this number was 50.5 I think I’d still take the over so the fact that you can get it at 46.5 is even more enticing to me.

Leg 3: Jets +3.5

I’m sorry, but the Falcons don’t deserve to be favored by 3.5 over anybody, even the Jets. Honestly, this should be a close back and forth game and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Jets were able to win this game outright.

We talked a lot about Atlanta’s defense, but offensively they haven’t been great either. They rank 25th in points for and 24th in yards. Matt Ryan hasn’t gone over 7 yards per attempt in a game all year and rookie, Kyle Pitts hasn’t really been utilized.

I would normally stay away from making a play against the spread on either of these teams but getting 3.5 on a neutral site field was too much to pass up.
