Cleveland Browns vs Los Angeles Chargers: Same-Game Parlay Picks

It’s been an interesting season for the Cleveland Browns. If I told you at the beginning of the season that the Browns would be 3-1 in four games, you’d take it as a Browns fan. However, quarterback Baker Mayfield only has two touchdowns thrown in four games this season. That’s a bit concerning.

Still, the Browns run game has been excellent, averaging 177 yards per game behind Nick Chubb who has run for 363 yards in four games with three touchdowns.

On the other hand, the Browns will visit Los Angeles and take on the Chargers who have another developing quarterback that has helped his team to a 3-1 record. Justin Herbert has nine touchdowns in four games along with 1178 yards passing and three interceptions. He’s played better than Mayfield and we’ll reflect that in this Same-Game Parlay.

Browns vs. Chargers odds

Browns vs Chargers Same-Game Parlay Picks

Justin Herbert Over 272.5 Passing Yards @ -114

Despite Herbert playing better than Mayfield, the Browns still profile better as a team. The expectation is still that the Browns get out to an early lead and force the Chargers to throw the ball down the field.

That’s why I like Herbert to get over 272.5 yards passing in this game. Again, he’s thrown for 1178 yards through four games. That’s very close to 300 yards per game passing. The worst portion of the Browns defense, at this time, is the secondary. In garbage time, Herbert will pad his stats and reach over 300 yards passing.

Keenan Allen Over 68.5 Receiving Yards @ -114

If Herbert throws for 300 yards, wide receiver Keenan Allen will be one of the main contributors to his success. A lot of the time, Mike Williams will be the deep threat and Allen will be that guy catching short passes. However, Allen could get past the secondary of the Browns and put together a big play too. He’s got the most targets on the team through four games and three BIG catches on the season while also averaging over 73 yards per game.

He’s been targeted 28 times this season. Let’s say Allen catches seven balls in this game for an average of 10.5 yards per catch. That’ll be enough to win this over prop.

Browns ML @ +108

I teased everyone for a bit. I still like the Browns to win this game, despite being on the road and despite the passing game playing weak throughout the first four weeks of the season.

The Chargers have been awful at defending the run and the Browns are a run-heavy team that is averaging over 175 yards per game on the ground.

So far this year, Baker Mayfield hasn’t been elite. He really hasn’t done anything that will “wow” you, but he’s been a good game manager and has helped the Browns to a 3-1 record through all of the injuries at wideout that the Browns have suffered through this season.
