The Cowboys are clearly the best team in the NFC East. Can the Giants give them a run for their money? Mike Spector gives us his Cowboys vs. Giants Same Game Parlay
ANALYSIS

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Same Game Parlay Pick and Prediction

The NFC East battle between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys got a little more interesting given each team’s result last week. The Giants beat the New Orleans Saints on the road in their first game at the Superdome to avoid their first back-to-back 0-4 starts in franchise history. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys put 36 points on the previously top-ranked Carolina Panthers defense, and FPI now gives Dallas the third-highest chance to make the NFC Championship. So are the Giants equipped to pull a second consecutive stunner, or will the Cowboys prove that their 3-1 start is no fluke and continue to separate themselves from the rest of the division? Find out our thoughts in our two-leg same-game parlay that pays out plus odds.

Cowboys vs. Giants odds

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Same Game Parlay

Same Game Parlay Leg 1: New York Giants +10.5 (Alternate Spread)

With the first leg of our parlay, we are moving the point spread 3.5 points in favor of the underdog and through the key number of +10. All of the talk coming into this game will be about how solid the Cowboys look through four games and how they are a last-minute Tom Brady-led drive away from being 4-0. There is no doubt that Dallas has been impressive, especially on offense, where their 31.5 points per game rank fourth in the league. However, the Giants are a couple plays away from being 3-1 as well, or at the very least 2-2 if they did not jump offsides on Washington’s potential game-winning field goal that missed.

Overshadowed by several other performances last week was that Daniel Jones threw for a career-high 402 passing yards in their win against New Orleans. Even more impressive is the fact that he did that without two of his best wide receivers in Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard, who missed last week’s game with injuries. If New York can get one or both of those receivers back and healthy this week, things look up for an offense that has scored 27 or more points in two of their last three games.

The piece that makes this Giants offense hum is a healthy Saquon Barkley. Barkley is a true home-run threat that has the second-most 50-yard scrimmage touchdowns since 2018, despite only playing in 35 games in that span.

Though New York is just 2-6 ATS in their last eight meetings against Dallas, they are 5-0 ATS in their previous five games against division rivals. In their last six October games, the Giants are also 5-1 ATS and are 8-2 ATS in their last ten against the NFC overall. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 2-5 ATS in their previous seven games against division rivals and 1-4 ATS in their last five October games. The Giants won their first game overcoming an 11-point fourth quarter deficit since 2012, which should give them confidence heading into Jerryworld this week.

Same Game Parlay Leg 2: OVER 46.5 (Alternate Total Points)

While we expect the Giants to be competitive in this game, that does not mean we do not expect points to be scored. This alternate point total is six points lower than the original number, and we like the over to hit easily.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off his fourth career four-passing touchdown and zero interception game, the second-most in franchise history. Dallas ran for a season-high 245 yards against a Carolina team that hadn’t allowed 50 rushing yards in a game all season. The Cowboys offensive line is getting healthy with Zack Martin and Tyron Smith playing at a high level, and they are a balanced team that can spread the ball out through the air or possess balance with a physical running game. Prescott and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore seem in lockstep at this point, and the Cowboys have averaged 38.5 points per game in their last two home games.

The over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Dallas between these teams and is 4-1 in their last five meetings overall. The fact that we can move the line this much while still getting plus odds on the two-leg parlay is too enticing to pass up.
