Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings: Same-Game Parlay Picks and Prediction

The Detroit Lions continue to struggle around the redzone this season. Usually, when this team comes close to putting together a drive, something wacky happens. This  sums up the Lions season. It’s been wacky.

Meanwhile, the Vikings have started their season 1-3 and have been a bit unlucky in a couple games this year. Minnesota could easily be 3-1 to start the year too. With running back Dalvin Cook questionable, the Vikings might struggle offensively. Then again, they’re facing the Lions, who have allowed 119 points on the season and 29.8 points per game this year. Let’s put together a Same-Game Parlay between the Lions and Vikings that makes sense.

Lions vs Vikings Same-Game Parlay Picks

Vikings -8.5 (-110)

The Vikings scored just seven points against the Browns last week in a controversial loss. Regardless, the offense still has more points scored than allowed this season. Like I said earlier, the Vikings could easily be 3-1 this season. Things just haven’t gone their way.

The Lions have put together one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing 29.8 points per game and over 400 yards per game. The pass rush is the only thing the Lions have going for them. However, the coverage is so bad, the pass rush can’t always get to the quarterback in time to make a play.

Detroit is also struggling tackling in the open field and will struggle against a Vikings team that has so much playmaking ability all over the field. Also, we should point out that the Vikings defense looked the best they had looked all year against the Browns and I like rolling into this week with that momentum too.

Vikings Over 29.5 Total Points -118

The Vikings have been one of the better and underappreciated offenses in the league in the last couple of seasons. Kirk Cousins has been a fine quarterback this season, throwing for nine touchdowns and just one interception on the year. In the running game, the Vikings have Dalvin Cook, who if healthy, can be a big spark to this offense.

Again, the Lions just don’t defend well and have looked terrible in coverage along with the rush defense. If the rushing game gets going, the passing game will open up and points will be scored fast.

Vikings -3.5 in the First Half +102

At home, the Vikings should feed off the Minnesota fans' energy and score early in this game. If I’m expecting 30 or more points, they better score early in this game.

Meanwhile, the Lions have T.J. Hockenson, Michael Brockers, Penei Sewell, Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift questionable to play in this game. Those are five real impact players that could be absent from the game, including a couple defense players that are already out for the year.

With the way the Vikings have played defense and special teams, I like the Vikings to score early and hold the Lions out of the endzone.
