One of the potentially more lopsided Week 5 NFL matchups comes to us in Carolina, where the Eagles take on the Panthers. There are a few prop plays I love in this game, so I decided to turn them into an Eagles vs. Panthers Same Game Parlay.
The Eagles come into Sunday as losers of three straight. Last week was better than their brutal loss to the Cowboys two weeks ago, but it still resulted in a loss. As for the Panthers, they come in following their first loss of the season and looking for a win to get back on the right track.
This Eagles vs. Panthers Same Game Parlay picks stays away from any game predictions. Instead, I’m focusing on three player props that can turn a small wager into a big win on Sunday.

Leg 1: Jalen Hurts Over 238.5 Yards @ -114
Can someone explain this passing prop to me? Jalen Hurts, even in two bad losses the last two weeks, has thrown for more than 300 yards each time. Last week, against the Chiefs, he put up 387 yards passing. Hurts is averaging 291.75 passing yards per game and, in case you haven’t noticed, Nick Sirianni pretends he’s not allowed to run the ball every single week. Hurts is going to throw the ball 35+ times on Sunday against a Carolina secondary that is hurt and hasn’t played all that well this season.
I think the reason this prop is so low is because of how previous QBs have performed against the Panthers. They haven’t given up a 200-yard passer since Week 1 against the Jets, but a lot of that has to do with situational circumstances. Jalen Hurts isn’t Davis Mills and the Eagles aren’t going to run the ball 34 times like Dallas did last week. Expect a near 300-yard performance from Hurts again.
Leg 2: DJ Moore Over 85.5 Yards Receiving @ -114
Speaking of not understanding a prop total. Uhm, what? This DJ Moore receiving yards prop could have been 125 yards and I’d still bet the over. Do we forget what Tyreek Hill did to this Eagles secondary just a few days ago? DJ Moore has cemented himself as Sam Darnold’s favorite target. He comes into the game having gone over 100 receiving yards in two straight and faces an Eagles secondary that has spent most of the season looking clueless.
The Kansas City Chiefs did not punt one single time last week against Philadelphia. DJ Moore is going to spend his entire afternoon abusing the Eagles corners. When Philadelphia decides to run more zone coverage once their secondary proves their worth, it’ll be the linebackers that get abused. And, to top it all off, the Eagles have shown no ability to get after the passer, outside of Javon Hargrave, so Darnold will have all day to pick them apart.

Leg 3: Kenneth Gainwell Anytime TD Scorer @ +230
I talked about this in my full-game preview earlier in the week for this matchup, but no Eagles offensive player has suffered more from the hiring of Nick Sirianni than running back Miles Sanders. Under Doug Pederson, Sanders was a threat in the run and pass game. Pederson didn’t run the ball a ton, but you could usually pencil Miles Sanders in for 10-15 carries a game. Now, he’s lucky if he sees 5-10 total touches.
Part of that is because of Sirianni’s system that he’s put around Jalen Hurts to cater to his QBs strengths. Another part of that is the emergence of rookie RB Kenneth Gainwell. Gainwell, who took last season off due to COVID-19 concerns, has been awesome as an Eagle. He fills the “Darren Sproles” role well, but shows a bit more ability in the run game. Not only is he stealing Sanders opportunities as a receiver out of the backfield, but he’s even getting a bunch of touches around the goal line. Gainwell to score either a rushing or receiving TD is great value at +230.
