NFL Expert Picks: New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams Predictions

The New York Giants are in rough shape. In their 44-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, they lost Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones, Kadarius Toney, and Kenny Golladay with injuries. Granted, the Saquon injury may not be as bad as we originally thought but it’s unlikely he play this week. As for Daniel Jones, well he’s in concussion protocol at the moment so his status is still very up in the air this week.

The Rams got back in the win column this past week and have extra rest as their 26-17 win over Seattle came on Thursday Night Football. Now, they head on the road to MetLife Stadium to take on the beat-up Giants. Can they hang tough at home or will the injuries just be too much to handle?

New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams Predictions

The particularly sad part for the Giants is Daniel Jones was playing pretty good football before his injury. If Mike Glennon has to go for New York this week it could get ugly. In relief of Jones, he went 16 of 25 for 196 yards a touchdown, and two interceptions.

As a starter, he’s 6-21 in his career and his best football came eight years ago at this point. Kadarius Toney has finally been unleashed the last two weeks and if he’s good to go on Sunday then the Giants would be wise to get the ball in his hands early and often.

Unfortunately, defensively they just haven’t been very good. They rank 26th in points against and 29th in yards against. Trying to slow down this Rams offense is going to be no easy task, especially if they’re on the field a lot considering who may be starting for them.

That Rams offense is eighth in points and ninth in yards so far this year. While they’ve gone slightly more quiet with just 46 points combined the past two weeks, we saw early on this year just how explosive they could be.

Matthew Stafford is still averaging 317 passing yards per game and when utilized properly, Darrell Henderson has been fairly efficient on the ground as well. I’d expect the Rams to attack the Giants through the air though with their ability to go four wide with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Van Jefferson, and DeSean Jackson.

The Rams are 3-2 against the spread so far this year, as they’re favored by 10.5 points this week on the road. The Giants are 2-3 but 0-2 ATS at home so far this season and in the Joe Judge era, they hold just a 3-7 ATS record at MetLife Stadium.

As an away favorite, the Rams are 3-3 since the beginning of last year but with the injuries the Giants are facing I’m just not sure how anyone can back them right now. The public is on the Rams -10.5 early as 98 percent of the bets are on the road favorite. Please don’t overthink this one, it shouldn’t be close.

NFL Free Picks: Week 6 is here after a wild Week 5. Week 5 saw Cordaralle Patterson and Kyle Pitts dominate the world stage in London. The Packers and Bengals back and forth overtime game with tons of botched field goals. Tom Brady and company continue to dominate. The Bills rolled over the Chiefs and are now AFC title favorites. The Patriots, Eagles, and Chargers all come out on top with 4th quarter comebacks. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals remain the lone unbeaten team and much, much more. This week, we'll see an NFC clash between the Buccaneers and Eagles on Thursday Night Football -- that one should be a ton of fun. A rivalry as old as time as the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears square off. The Arizona Cardinals put their undefeated record on the line against the Cleveland Browns and on Monday Night Football the Buffalo Bills will look to stay red hot facing the Tennessee Titans.
