New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys Same-Game Parlay Picks and Predictions
Fans and bettors alike may still need some getting used to the strange feeling of seeing the New England Patriots getting points in a home game at Foxborough. In Tom Brady’s 20-year tenure as Patriots quarterback, New England was a home underdog just 12 times. In those 12 games, the Patriots went 11-1 ATS and 9-3 SU and outscored their opponents by ten points per game. Now rookie Mac Jones and the Patriots are home underdogs in their second consecutive game, covering as +7 point home ‘dogs two weeks ago against the Buccaneers. So how will they fare this week in that spot against the Cowboys? Where else do we find value to wager on in this Cowboys-Patriots Week 6 clash? Find out in our three-leg same-game parlay that pays odds of +142?
Patriots vs. Cowboys Same-Game Parlay Picks
New England Patriots +7.5 (Alternate Spread)
The Dallas Cowboys’ point spread will be a popular bet this week, given how much more dominant they looked in last week’s win than their opponent. In Dallas’s 44-20 win over the Giants, they amassed a season-high 515 total yards. It was also their first game since 1983, where they had 300 or more passing yards and 200+ yards rushing. In addition, Dak Prescott was sensational on third down, completing 10-of-12 passes on 16.0 yards per attempt while also posting a QBR of 99.7. While one has reason to be excited about the Cowboys, who are riding a four-game winning streak, one also needs to understand that they beat the same Giants team they had previously beaten seven consecutive times.
The New England Patriots did not earn any style points in their 25-22 road victory over the Texans, but the win is all that matters. The Patriots should be given a pass for their lackadaisical effort on Sunday, given that they were coming off a deflating loss in primetime the week before to the Buccaneers. However, rookie quarterback Mac Jones has played well in back-to-back weeks in crunch time, which will help New England’s case in a game projected to be close. Jones led the offense to scoring drives on their final four possessions last week, and New England closed the game on a 16-0 run to steal a victory. Jones made all the critical throws needed and showed a tremendous amount of poise when their backs were against the wall.
While New England is 0-3 at home this season, they are bound to break through at some point. They were beaten by double digits in a home loss to the Saints but will make the necessary adjustments to stay within a touchdown this week. The Patriots are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games as a home underdog, and we are getting +3.5 extra points with this alternate spread.
Under 53.5 (Alternate Total Points)
The under is 8-1 in the Patriots’ last nine home games and has cashed in each of New England’s last four games as a home underdog. However, this wager on the alternate point total has as much to do with Dallas’ defense as it does New England’s.
The Cowboys defense has been attacking the football lately, flying around and forcing turnovers. Cornerback Trevon Diggs is making an early case for Defensive Player of the Year, as his six interceptions are double the next highest total. As a whole, Dallas’ 12 turnovers forced are second in the league, and New England has been very willing to cough up the football, especially when they have been knocking on the door of the endzone.
New England ranks 31st in the league with a 37.5% touchdown percentage in the red zone, while Dallas does not rate much better at 19th with touchdowns on 60% of their red-zone trips. Though Dallas averages 34.0 PPG entering this game, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will not let this game turn into a track meet.
Dallas Cowboys +20.5 (Alternate Spread)
Admittedly, we are getting greedy with this last leg of the parlay, as adding it brings our potential payout from +129 to +142. It is hard to envision a scenario where the Patriots win by three or more touchdowns, aside from Dak Prescott getting hurt early in the game. So enjoy the extra $13 in payouts for every $100 bet, and enjoy the easy cash in one of the three legs of this same game parlay.
