NFL Week 6 Picks: Top First Touchdown Scorers

For Week 6, there are some intriguing matchups on the slate. For instance, The undefeated Cardinals going on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens going up against Justin Herbert and the Chargers should be a fun one too.

Today, what I’m going to try to do is find you some top first touchdown scorer props to bet. Sure, we can go chalk but I’m trying to find you some value here. Here are four plays I have this week for first touchdown scorer.

Keenan Allen +850

The Baltimore Ravens have had a real rough go of it on defense this year. They let Indianapolis jump out to an early lead on them last week and then in their first two games of the year got 33 and 35 hung on them. With Justin Herbert leading the Chargers offense, I expect there to be a lot of points in this one and have Los Angeles getting on the board first.

Surprisingly, Keenan Allen has just one touchdown on the season so far this year coming in the game against Kansas City. So far this year, Mike Williams has more touchdowns with six to Allen’s one but they have nearly identical targets through the first five games of the year (Allen with 53 and Williams with 51).

Eventually, they have to even out and I think Allen finds the endzone against Baltimore. He’s on pace for just 3.4 touchdowns right now, which would be well below his 6.5 average over the past four seasons.

Tyler Higbee +1200

For years now the New York Giants have struggled to cover Tight Ends, and I’m trying to cash in because of it. They’ve allowed four touchdowns in five games to the position and are going up against a pretty good one this week in Tyler Higbee.

Higbee has two receiving touchdowns on the year, both coming in the last three weeks, and he is a Matthew Stafford favorite in the red zone. Through five games he has six red-zone targets. So if the Rams get down to the red zone against this banged-up Giants team, which they should, expect Higbee to be involved.

Sam Darnold +1300

Okay, we’re going for value here. Sam Darnold has five rushing touchdowns on the season already. They’ve used his legs a lot especially when they get down by the goal line. Minnesota has allowed five rushing touchdowns on the season, which is roughly the middle of the pack.

When the Panthers’ offense is at their best they’re running the ball. Let’s hope for an RPO on the goal line with Sam keeping it. With Christian McCaffrey’s Week 6 status up in the air, a rushing touchdown from Sam is what I’m most comfortable with from Carolina.

Darrel Williams +850

In the Chiefs loss to Buffalo in Week 5, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to injury. This week against Washington, Darrel Williams will likely be the feature back in the offense. Sure, you can go with Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce, but the value isn’t there. +850 for a running back is fairly good odds and when you consider that Washington’s defense has allowed four rushing touchdowns and the second-most points in the NFL, you have to feel pretty good about it.

Williams doesn’t only add value in the run game, he has two rushing touchdowns this year but he can also catch out of the backfield making him a duel threat to get in the endzone. If you’re not going with Kelce or Hill then I think Williams is your best play here.
