Chiefs vs. Titans Predictions: Is Tennessee For Real?

The Tennessee Titans are feeling themselves after a big win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. This week, they’re tasked with taking on the Kansas City Chiefs which likely won’t be an easy matchup depending on which version of Kansas City you get.

K.C. is back at .500 with a 3-3 record after beating down the Washington Football Team by a score of 31-13. Are the real Kansas City Chiefs here to stay or will we see the defense regress back to the mean against a good team?

Kansas City Chiefs vs Tennessee Titans Predictions

The Chiefs were back in the win column this past week with a strong showing against Washington. Now, traveling to Tennessee will they be able to keep their momentum going? Offensively they’ve been great as they’re fifth in points and second in yards on the year. It’s the defense that’s been an issue.

They rank 28th in points and yards against and they’re specifically not good against the run. If Chris Jones isn’t able to go this week that could be a major issue for them against the Derrick Henry-led Titans rushing attack.

Against the Buffalo Bills, who have one of the league’s best defenses (especially against the run) he went for 143 yards and three touchdowns. He’s averaging 130.5 yards per game and already has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.

If the Titans are able to control the clock, they rank seventh in the NFL in time of possession, they should have a good chance in this one. I’m not sure if they win the game outright but I’m not sold on the Chiefs running away and winning by more than a touchdown.

Against the spread, Kansas City has been atrocious in recent memory. Kansas City is just 10-15 ATS since the start of 2020, while Tennesee is 11-12 over that time but 4-2 against the spread this year. They won their lone game as a home underdog this year with an ATS +/- of +9.

Chiefs vs Titans Picks

Titans +5.5 (-105)
