Texans vs. Cardinals Picks: Can the Cardinals Cover the Big Number?
The Arizona Cardinals proved their worth with a big win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 to improve to 6-0 on the season. Now, they head back home to take on the Houston Texans and are favored by a huge 17.5 number.
Houston has lost five in a row after opening their season with a win and put up just three points against Indianapolis most recently. A motivated DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt against their former team could be a scary thing.

Houston Texans vs Arizona Cardinals Predictions
The Houston Texans have really struggled this year. They’re starting third-round rookie Davis Mills at the quarterback position and he’s 0-4 with just 182.4 passing yards per game and a 73.2 passer rating to his name.
In three of their six games this year they have scored 10 points or less. The Texans' offense ranks 31st in points, 29th in yards, and 29th in turnovers. It’s been about as bad as it could get for a team and it doesn’t get any easier as they have to go against the Cardinals who have the third-best defense in the NFL.
Arizona has held opponents to just 109 points in six games which is an average of 18.2 points per game. Only one team has scored more than 21 points against them and that’s Minnesota with 33. They held the high-powered Rams offense to just 20 and Cleveland to 14.
We haven’t even gotten to the offense of the Cardinals yet. Kyler Murray is on an MVP pace with 14 passing touchdowns and three more rushing touchdowns to go with it. He’s throwing for 290 yards per game an 8.9 yards per attempt and a 67.6 QBR.
Due to the third-year leap from Kyler, the Cardinals offense ranks fourth in points, seventh in yards, and ninth in passing. The moral of the story, it will likely be a long, long day for the Houston Texans.
Arizona has covered in five of their six games this season and has an average margin of victory of 14.2. On the flip side, Houston is 3-3 against the spread but has a -13.3 average margin of victory which is the worst in the NFL.
I don’t care how big the number is, I can’t possibly back Houston in this one. In the two games that Houston played a top-10 defense this year, they scored a combined nine points.
