New Orleans Saints vs Seattle Seahawks MNF Same-Game Parlay: Value On The Over

It’s a surprise to see the Seattle Seahawks sitting at 2-4 through their first six games of the year. Geno Smith will get the start again for the second week in a row as Russell Wilson is still out with a finger injury. As for New Orleans, they’re coming off of an early bye week.

They’ve been inconsistent so far this season with wins over the Packers, Patriots, and Washington Football Team and losses to the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants. Which version shows up for the Saints on Monday?

This week, I’m looking at a +295 same-game parlay to play for this Saints vs Seahawks NFC matchup.

Leg 1: Saints Over 17.5 Points

In all but one game this year the Saints have cleared 17 points. The one time they didn’t was against the Carolina Panthers who did a good job of holding the run offense in check. New Orleans is top-10 in both rushing attempts and yards which should bode well for them on Sunday against Seattle.

Seattle has allowed the third-most rushing yards in the league and when you have to oppose Alvin Kamara that likely won’t improve. Jameis Winston hasn’t been asked to do a ton throwing the ball but they’re ninth in the league in points for and have put up 25+ points three times.

Leg 2: Seahawks +5.5

I think people are discrediting the Seahawks slightly. I don’t think they’ll win this game, but they should be able to do enough to keep it close. Just last week against Pittsburgh they were able to force overtime and ended up only losing by a field goal. Seattle has still covered in half their games despite the losing record.

New Orleans is 0-1 against the spread when being favored by 4.5 points or more this season. I’m using an alternate line here to give myself a little extra wiggle room but I expect a close contest between these two teams.

Leg 3: Over 42.5 total points

Another insanely low total number. I understand Seattle is going with a backup quarterback here but the line being in the low 40’s sounds like a crime. Seattle and their opponents have combined for more than 42.5 points in every single one of their games. What am I missing here? I know the Saints’ defense is good, but they’re just middle of the pack (15th) in terms of points allowed. Seattle is averaging 23.3 points per game, expect them to come in around 20 and the Saints to be roughly at the mid 20 mark.
