Week 9 of the NFL season is here. Unreal to think we are almost at the halfway point of the season. We've managed a good profit so far on anytime touchdowns and I am focused on building on it here tonight. Last weekend was tough, we nailed our top pick and banker of the week but the rest of our picks didn't go the way we had hoped for. Thursday Night Football provides us with a new opportunity though and there are a few spots I love tonight for anytime touchdowns. This will be the first primetime game hosted by the Colts since December 2017. Let's capitalize and start Week 9 off with a bang!

The expectations for both of these teams were quite different coming into 2021. The Jets are in a rebuild with a new head coach and a rookie quarterback who we won't get to see tonight. The Colts were many people's dark horse this season but come into this game at 3-5 meanwhile the Jets are 2-5. New York is coming off a surprising upset of the Bengals and the Colts played a draining game in which they lost against divisional foe Titans. There will be plenty on the line here for the Colts as their playoff hopes would be crushed with another loss tonight. I think they come out firing and I have done the research so you don't have to for the anytime touchdown bets for Colts vs. Jets.

Let's get to the best anytime touchdown picks for Thursday night!  Best of luck if you tail!

Zach Pascal (+190)

If you read my picks for Week 8 Pascal was going to get locked in if TY Hilton didn't play. Well, Hilton played so we stayed off of Pascal. Now Hilton is out tonight so let's fire up Pascal to score anytime against the Jets. With Parris Campbell out for the season even more targets should be up for grabs in the Colts offense. Pascal is second on the team in targets and has had no less than five in every game except the one Hilton was active. Pascal actually is tied for the lead on the Colts in red-zone targets with 9 which is tied for the 7th most in the NFL. The Jets have been extremely exploitable in the short and underneath areas which is where Pascal thrives.

Jonathan Taylor to Score 2 TDs (+285)

It's no secret the Jets have been abysmal keeping running backs out of the end zone. They've allowed the most rushing scores to opposing running backs and they are even one of the teams that have had a bye. So through 7 games, they've allowed 11 rushing scores. Last week Joe Mixon scored twice, two weeks ago the Patriots scored FIVE touchdowns by their running backs. Now the Jets face Jonathan Taylor who is ready to bludgeon this defense. Taylor has already scored twice in a game this season in Weeks 5 and 6. Taylor leads the entire NFL in red-zone touches with 39 and 15 attempts from the 5-yard line. The next closest is Damien Harris with 9. Taylor will be the focal point of tonight's game. He's had 100 yards from scrimmage and at least one touchdown in five straight games. I fully expect this to continue tonight and let's watch him dominate.

Jamison Crowder (+225)

Denzel Mims (+600)

Just as it's no secret how bad the Jets have been defending running backs the same can be said for the Colts defending Wide Receivers. Indy has allowed a league-high 13 scores to receivers. I'm putting these together as I like them for similar yet different reasons. Corey Davis is doubtful and as long as he's out this is an official play. With Davis out that opens the door for other guys on the Jets again. Last week Denzel Mims was actually tied for the most snaps on the team besides Michael Carter. Crowder is the leading man for this group as he received 9 targets with Mike White under center. I like Crowder as well but the price on Mims tonight is kind of astronomical given the amount of time he was on the field last week. The Colts have been beaten by bigger wide receivers on the outside all season.

  • AJ Bown (10 catches, 155 yards, 1 TD)
  • Deebo Samuel (7, 100, 1 TD)
  • Marquise Brown (9, 125, 2 TDs)
  • Devante Parker (4, 77, 1 TD)
  • DK Metcalf & Tyler Lockett Combined (8, 160, 3 TDs)

Despite the snaps, Mims was out-targeted by 5 other Jets last week. At these odds though and being the big-play threat down the field I like Mims. If you opt for just the safer play with Crowder I don't blame you.

Marlon Mack (+700) - 0.5 Units **INACTVE**

Mack is someone I'll have a half unit on. He was one of my picks for the Week 7 SNF game in San Francisco when the Colts played the 49ers in the rainiest game we'll probably see all year. I like him tonight for all the reasons I mentioned about Taylor dominating the Jets defense. Taylor has seen some insane usage through the first eight weeks and being on a short week we can see Mack get more burn than usual tonight. Now the trade deadline is passed the Colts don't need to protect the possible trade asset that was Mack from injury. He's set up in a rare position in which I think he can find the endzone, especially if the Colts get out to a big lead and Taylor ends up on the bench.

**MACK INACTIVE**

LATE ADD - Nyheim Hines (+300)

With Mack inactive for tonight's game I'm adding Hines to the card. For many of the same reasons I liked Mack we'll be on Hines to score.
