Out of the gate, it was a hot start for the Los Angeles Chargers. They were 4-1 and riding high into a game in Baltimore before getting their doors blown off 34-6. They went to the bye week with their tail between their legs but had two weeks to prep for New England. Well, that didn’t go well either as they lost 27-24 to the Pats to fall to 4-3. Do they snap out of it or will the Philadelphia Eagles make it three L’s in a row?

Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Chargers Prediction
With just 30 points over the last two weeks, the Chargers’ offense hasn’t been up to its usual ways. For reference, they put up 47, 28, and 30 points the three games prior to their recent slide. One of the issues has been interceptions from Justin Herbert. He has three in the last two weeks and his completion percentage has dropped to under 60 percent in both of their most recent losses.
During the three games prior to this drought, he had an 11 touchdowns to zero interception ratio and a rating over 100 in each of those games. For the Chargers, they need him to play to the level that we know he’s capable of. Also, after a good start defensively Brandon Staley’s team has been legit awful the last three weeks.
On average, they’re allowing 34 points per game which is way higher than they’d like. Life won’t necessarily get easier this week as they’ll be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles who have a decent offense.
Philadelphia just refuses to run the ball (with their running backs at least) but they still rank 13th in points and 19th in yards overall as they sit at 3-5 on the season. It’s been a little bit of a mixed bag before their mauling of the Lions this past week where they won 44-6.
The story on defense has been excellent coverage in the passing game but downright putridness in the rushing attack. The Eagles are bottom third in the league giving up over 120 yards per game on the ground. Having to go against Austin Ekeler looks like a challenge.
In terms of looking at the spread, the Chargers are 4-3 against the spread while the Eagles hold a 4-4 record. Philly is just 1-2 against the spread has home underdogs this year and with the spread being just 1.5 points, they essentially have to win the game outright to cover.
With the Chargers rushing attack, I think they have enough to get after Philly and I just can’t get a good read on this Eagles team. They’ve been inconsistent all year long and I have more faith in the Chargers' second-year quarterback than the Eagles’.
