New England Patriots vs. Cleveland Browns Same-Game Parlay Picks: Believe in Baker Mayfield

Cleveland Browns vs New England Patriots: Which team gets to six wins? The Cleveland Browns released Odell Beckham Jr and then defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 41-16. Is this a coincidence or not? I seem to think so. What that win, the Browns are currently 5-4 on the season and will travel to New England to take on a Patriots team that is also 5-4. The Patriots have won four of their last five games, and all that talk about Bill Belichick not being good at his job is far gone now. The Patriots are serious AFC playoff contenders moving forward. Which team should you back in your Same-Game Parlay this weekend between the Browns and Patriots?

Patriots vs. Browns SAME GAME PARLAY Picks

Browns (+116)

The Patriots have been stellar; however, the Browns just need to get healthy and get rid of all the noise. Cleveland is 5-4 on the year, and with that roster, it should be over .500 by way more games. Either way, the Browns have been the much better defensive team with a scary pass rush led by Myles Garrett and a coverage unit that continues to develop into one of the best secondaries in the league. On top of that, Cleveland has also put together one of the best offensive lines in football. The run block has been sensational, allowing Nick Chubb to rush for some big plays throughout the season when healthy. The Patriots also have a very good run game and will need it to defeat the Browns. However, looking at both rushing defenses, the Browns are much better, allowing just 84.8 yards per game compared to 108.9 per game from the Patriots defense. I like the Browns to pull off an upset on the road here.

Patriots Team Total Under 23.5  (-118)

The Browns are way more balanced than the Patriots. On defense, they’ve got a fantastic defensive line that puts pressure on quarterbacks, and they’ve got a secondary that has played extremely well as of late. If the Patriots are trailing in this game and commit to passing the ball more, it’s not going to work out for Mac Jones with an offensive line that hasn’t done well in pass protection this season. I’ll put my money on Myles Garrett to keep Jones and this Patriots offense in check.

Browns +.5 (-110)

The Browns just have a new energy about them. They’re coming out strong and looking powerful. The defense is engaged, and the offense has so many weapons; despite losing Odell Beckham Jr., he wouldn’t perform with the team regardless. He was probably checked out, which is another reason it just didn’t work out. Now that the team has moved on, the offense can start to find success while the defense has found theirs. Earlier this year, the Patriots struggled to get going against the Houston Texans and their defense. That’s what could happen in this one, except the Browns won’t blow the lead.
