Monday Night Football Picks: Our Staff's Top Bets for San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams

Thirteen games have already taken place in Week 10, and just one remains -- the Monday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.

Underdogs had another strong week in Week 10, going 8-5 against the spread, with four of them winning straight up. Meanwhile, the under has hit in eight of 13 thus far.

Tonight's matchup features two NFC West squads that are seemingly headed in opposite directions. The 7-2 Rams look primed to make a Super Bowl run, and the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. certainly doesn't hurt. As for the 49ers, they're sitting at a disappointing 3-5 and would find themselves dead last in the division with a loss.

In addition to an ever-growing abundance of top-notch content, our staff will be providing us with their favorite overall plays each week of the season.

For this piece, our staff will be covering whatever bets they feel strongest about for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams matchup -- no limitations. Let’s get to it!

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Picks

Los Angeles Rams -3.5 (+100)

I love the Rams this week. Now, I know, they haven't been great against the spread at just 4-5 but the 49ers have been worse. San Francisco is just 2-6, and they're 0-4 both straight up and against the spread at home. In fact, if you go back to last year, this team is just 2-8 at home against the spread. Over that same span, the Rams are 7-7 on the road with an ATS +/- of +3. Don't overthink this one, the Rams are good and the 49ers aren't. This game shouldn't be close.

The public is going to love the Rams and for once, I’ll agree. The Rams are making a ton of different moves to get out in front and become a championship contender. I think it’ll all come together for the Rams tonight with Von Miller and Odell Beckham expected to play. It’s a sucker bet, but I’m all for it. Take the Rams -3.5.

Los Angeles Rams -3.0 (-125)

My best bet of Monday Night Football is going to be one of my most square plays of the season! I am riding the LA Rams tonight at -3 with -125 juice. This is a Rams team that is coming off a brutal loss at home to the Titans and I believe they bounce back and beat up on this 49ers team tonight. The Rams made headlines by landing both Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr in the last week. This is a game I am not overthinking and I will be riding with the world here on the Rams at -3 tonight!

San Francisco 49ers +3.5 (-105)

Based on the betting splits with most sportsbooks reporting more than 80% of the money on the Rams, this game is setting up almost exactly like the Thursday night game where the general public loaded up on Baltimore. We happily backed the Dolphins in that game, and they won outright. This projects to be a similar situation here. Los Angeles’s offense is compromised with the loss of Robert Woods, and OBJ is not yet acclimated to their playbook. We would not put anyone off a play on the 49ers moneyline, but we’re happy to grab the hook here.

George Kittle Anytime TD (+200)

Kittle's return from IR didn't disappoint last week, and maybe we should play a safer route like yards or receptions against a Rams D that's in the bottom 10 this year versus tight ends. However, in what I expect to be a very entertaining game, I'm going to take Kittle to find the endzone again.

George Kittle Over 57.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Kittle has a good matchup up against the Rams on Monday night. The Rams have allowed the seventh-most yards to opposing tight ends and the second-most receptions entering Week 10. After missing three games with a calf injury, Kittle made a successful return in Week 9 against the Cardinals. He came back with a near-optimal workload (41 snaps, 73 percent), led the 49ers in receiving yards (101), tied for the team lead in catches (6), and tied for second in targets (8). I’m expecting him to have a strong second half here in 2021. Best of luck if you tail!

Rams Moneyline and George Kittle 50+ Receiving Yards (+130) - DraftKings

It's really hard not to love the Rams tonight, but I simply want more juice than their current -175 moneyline -- hence this parlay. In terms of DVOA, both of these squads have top six offensive units, but where they separate is on the defensive side of the ball. According to Football Outsiders, the Rams come in ranked fourth in defensive DVOA while the 49ers are 17th. Meanwhile, San Fran has been atrociously bad at home. Since 2020, the Niners are 1-9 straight up on their home turf, which ranks second-worst to only the Lions. Yes, even Jacksonville has been better. Yikes. As for Kittle, he's averaging 127.6 yards in his last five outings against the Rams, including at least 79 in each of those games. It helps that the Rams are top-eight in targets and yards allowed to the position.
