Fantasy Football Buy Low, Sell High: 12 Trade Candidates Ahead of Week 11

It’s important to look deeper into a player’s production before making irrational roster decisions. If you are the one in your league reading this, I hope that you can take advantage of each situation as they come.

Each week I will present some players you should either sell high or buy low on while you can. Almost everything in fantasy football is a result of short-term memory. If you don’t act quickly, you will miss out on opportunities that can make or break your fantasy season.

Fantasy Football Players to Buy Low in Week 11

Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert has not been his consistent self in 3 of the last 4 games. He has had some difficult matchups and will have another this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you are unable to trade for him prior to this week, you just may be able to get him even cheaper should he struggle in Week 11.

Herbert is too good and has some favorable matchups down the stretch. Make a play for him now, get him for cheap, and enjoy your fantasy playoff wins on his shoulders.

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

Fantasy managers have been without Saquon Barkley for the last 5 weeks. 6 weeks if you include his injury game where he ran just twice for 9 yards. Barkley is expected to return this week but has a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers front seven.

The Barkley manager will likely not give him up for cheap or even this week if they’ve held onto him all of this time. Still, they may feel worried about Barkley going forward which is why it’s a good time to buy.

Barkley is an elite option at running back. You can get him healthy and just in time for fantasy playoffs.

Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Mike Williams began the season as one of the top wide receivers in fantasy football. He has 80+ receiving yards and a touchdown in 4 of his first 5 games. He totaled 6 touchdowns in that span. Since then, his production has fallen.

As I mentioned with Justin Herbert, the Chargers have had a few tough matchups recently. If I’m expecting Herbert to bounce back, I’m expecting the same for Mike Williams. Justin Herbert has had his best games when Williams has been heavily targeted.

The Chargers have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Look for Herbert to re-connect with Williams in the coming weeks. Get Mike Williams now before it’s too late.

Dawson Knox, TE, Buffalo Bills

Dawson Knox got off to an amazing start to the year. He scored a total of 5 touchdowns in his first 5 games of the year. Unfortunately, he injured his hand in Week 6 and did not return until last week. He caught just 1 target for 17 yards.

This was his first game back form injury so expectations should have been low anyway. Josh Allen knows what type of red-zone target he has in Dawson Knox and he will get back to throwing his way in scoring opportunities.

He may even be on your waiver wire right now!

  • Devonta Freeman, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Fantasy Football Players to Sell High in Week 11

Carson Wentz, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Carson Wentz did have an off-game last week, but the Colts won the game and it was the Jonathan Taylor show. Prior to that game, Wentz had thrown multiple touchdowns in each of his last 6 games. He’s now done that in 7 of 10 games on the season.

This should be your pitch when selling him to a quarterback-needy team in your league. Don’t mention the fact that Wentz will face the Buffalo Bills defense who have given up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Also, don’t mention his Week 14 bye and challenging matchups against the Patriots and Cardinals that follow.

Darrel Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Darrel Williams is coming off a very impressive primetime game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He has just 43 rushing yards but wowed everyone with his efforts in the receiving game. He caught all 9 of his targets for 101 yards, including a poster board-type touchdown catch.

As impressive as Williams has been, the Chiefs don’t often need their running backs to win football games. With Clyde Edwards-Helaire expected to return soon, Darrel Williams’ workload will take a massive hit. Strike while the iron is hot and dump him off to someone else to deal with the cliff.

Michael Pittman, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Michael Pittman has been a very good fantasy option at wide receiver this season. His value is higher than expected right now. He has 4 total touchdowns in his last 4 games.

The same concept when it comes to selling high on Carson Wentz, Pittman has a Week 14 bye and the Patriots and Cardinals defenses to deal with in Weeks 15 and 16.

It’s time to thank Michael Pittman for all that he’s done for you this year and hand him off for another elite player before he disappoints you in the fantasy playoffs.

Cole Kmet, TE, Chicago Bears

The tight end position is the most unstable one in fantasy football. Cole Kmet is coming off of his best game of the season just before the Bears Week 10 bye. He caught 6 of 8 targets for 87 yards. Kmet also has a favorable matchup this week against the Ravens who have allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to tight ends.

This may be your only time to make a pitch for value with Cole Kmet. Prior to his last game, he failed to have 50 receiving yards in any game. His ceiling isn’t high and his floor is dangerously low. See if you can package him with another position to upgrade where you need.

  • Hunter Renfrow, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
