Miami Dolphins vs. New York Giants Prediction: Can the G-Men Hang Close Without Daniel Jones?

So we all know who the hottest team in the NFL is (Patriots) but do you know who the second hottest team is? You will be shocked. It's the Miami Dolphins.

Who would have thought a team who started the season 1-7 would still have a shot at the playoffs? Simply, the trade deadline has passed, the Deshaun Watson rumors have stopped, and the most important piece, the defense that was supposed to be the key to this team's success, has finally started playing like it. On the defensive side of the ball, they have only been giving up 11.5 points in the last four games. On the other side, in this matchup, Danny Dimes has been ruled out (Starting quarterback Daniel Jones) because of a neck stinger, but it doesn't matter who is back there on Sunday. Honestly, we were on the Dolphins either way.

Dolphins vs. Giants Prediction

The Giants are starting Mike Glennon, who has played in one game this year so far. A very lackluster performance he had (2 interceptions and a QBR of 28.9). He is 6-21 as a starting quarterback in his career and hasn't won a game since 2017. The big difference in quarterback here is the Dolphins defense will see a big stiff at quarterback (picture Big Ben Roethlisberger) since Glennon stands 6'7 versus Daniel Jones, who uses his legs as much as his arm.

The Dolphins defense is 6th in the league in turnovers, so expect a few of those. More importantly, the Giants fired their Offensive Coordinator (Jason Garett) after their inept offense scored one touchdown (Brady interception inside the 10 wasn't much of a drive) and got a whopping 215 total yards against Tampa Bay. So how did they do with their new offense? They got 264 yards and 13 points, helped by Jalen Hurts, three interceptions, and a fumble.

As you can see, clearly not an impressive performance from the Giants last week, and now they now face a HOT defense with their 26th ranked offense and also 26th rushing, and that's with Daniel Jones at quarterback. The last few weeks, Tua has been playing like the quarterback he was supposed to be (clearly, the trade rumors affected him). He is one of only four quarterbacks to throw for an 80 percent completion rate in back-to-back games, which is impressive. Of course, when you have the possible Rookie of the Year in Jalen Waddle, his old buddy from college who is on pace for a rookie record, he always has a safety net to throw to.

Let's look at some numbers on this game. Coach Flores is 11-1 ATS (10-2 SU) in November and December since he has been with Miami.

Miami had their best offensive performance recently, a coach who knows how to win at the end of the year a team hot and back in the playoff hunt in the AFC playing against an inept offense with a giant stiff backup Quarterback and an offense that hasn't clicked all year. Miami will not turn the ball over four times or give New York a free touchdown like Brady did (even though it didn't matter). Dolphins win 24-10 as their defense delivers again, and Tua manages the game as he has been. This is the NFL, and things change quickly, ride the hot hand. Take the Fish and get paid.
