Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals Prediction: Monday Night Football's Best Bet

Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals Prediction

Rams vs. Cardinals odds

Rams and Cardinals in a NFC West showdown tonight. This game will be worth the wait. This is going to be the complete opposite of their last matchup, which was 37-20 Arizona back in October.

First of all, his game means a lot more to both teams (divisions title, bye week, make the playoffs, etc.) and secondly, adjustments have been made by both teams that won't allow points to be scored like last time. Last week, both teams had huge offensive games against bad teams (37 for the Rams and 33 for the Cardinals) and we feel both defenses need to step up in a game like this and will.

There are tons of numbers that suggest a lower-scoring game tonight, including the fact that the Rams' last 4 December games have gone under and with Miller dedicating this game, we expect him and Donald to be all over Murray. While Arizona's in a rare situation, playing on MNF has seen their last 8 games go under the total, which is just weird but I guess they aren’t a primetime offensive team.

Also helping the under is the fact Chase Edmonds is back (led them in rushing in the first matchup) for Arizona and he and James Conner should run the ball a lot tonight. Also, the Rams got their first 100-yard rushing game last week with Sony Michel (Darrel Henderson is out) so expect some more of that to wear down the Arizona defense. It also helps that Arizona has a blitzing defense and last week Coach Mcvay finally changed things up for Stafford (tired of the 5 interceptions over three games) using more play-action, which is why their offense finally clicked and he didn’t turn the ball over once.  We expect a lot more of this tonight, especially against the blitz-happy Arizona defense as a way to keep them from being all over him.

Lastly, a very important situation is the fact that all year the Rams D has been one of the best against the run, except for in the Arizona game when the Cardinals ran for 216 against them. The Rams have only given up 89.9 yards and 3.6 average without that game and adding Von Miller should help the Rams' D give us a huge defensive performance tonight, especially against the run and force Murray to beat them thru the air.

This far into the year you notice things, and Arizona has been great on the road and not so great at home. They are only 2-3 ATS at home and they are outscoring opponents by only 1.4 points per game. On the road, they are outscoring teams by 16 points.

So, to sum things up, we have a defense mad about their worst performance of the year who allows only 5.1 yards per play (4th best), has the best lineman in the NFL in Aaron Donald, a Super Bowl MVP in Miller. They're playing with revenge for being embarrassed at home In October, and the turnovers hopefully won’t happen like they did in the last game where Arizona had some short drives for scores.

Through all the Rams talk, we can’t forget that Arizona is also giving up only 18.7 points a game (4th best), also 4th best in total yards and passing yards. They've been shutting down teams knowing the offense wasn’t the same with Murray and Hopkins out and it's been the key to the winning so they won’t just stop being good tonight, obviously.

It’s a division game, both have everything to play for a playoff spot and a division title, the numbers all say the same thing, we expect the defenses will rise tonight and we expect a 24-21 Game.

Take the under as both teams try to establish their running games and show who really is the best in the west.
