3 Ways To Win Big On Thursday Night Football: Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to stay ahead in the AFC West standings with their 10th win of the season. The Chiefs are one game ahead of the Chargers, who are 8-5 on the year. The Chargers will take on the Chiefs, at home, as a 3-point underdog. There are plenty of ways to bet on this game. Both teams have struggled to defend against the run this season. However, the Chiefs' defense has been extremely better in the second half of the season. I've listed my three favorite bets to win big for tonight's game between the Chiefs and Chargers.

Chargers vs. Chiefs TNF Picks

Chiefs Moneyline (-162)

When I hear "win big," I think about taking lottery picks. But ultimately, if you're looking to win big, playing the lottery isn't essentially the way to go. Instead, just take the Chiefs on the moneyline at -162. The Chiefs have been on a roll this season and have allowed 14 or fewer points in each of their last five games. The Chargers can certainly score more than 14 points but will have to rely on the passing game behind Justin Herbert. However, the Chief's secondary has looked extremely solid, and Charger's best receiver, Keenan Allen, is returning from a stint on COVID protocol. Plus, we know what the Chief's offense can do, and they'll have lots of success on the ground tonight going up against a Los Angeles defense that has allowed 140.7 yards per game on the ground this season.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Over 55.5 Rushing Yards (-125)

Again, the Chargers are allowing over 140 yards per game on the ground this season and have really failed making tackles this season in open space and behind the line of scrimmage. Therefore, coming off two touchdowns last week, I'm expecting the Chiefs to be even more confident in Clyde moving forward. He's only had two games this season with fewer than 12 rushing attempts. If you give him 12 or more attempts against the Chargers, he should be able to surpass 55.5 rushing yards. He will break out for some big gains today against the Chargers.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Anytime Touchdown (+100)

Let's stick with Clyde here. If I like Clyde to get over a dozen carries and break away with a couple, I also like him to score a touchdown. This can be rushing or receiving, and Clyde is usually good for two or three receptions per game as well. Either way, the Chargers grade horribly against the run and really struggle to make tackles, as I talked about above. On the other hand, the Chargers have a solid pass rush and a coverage unit that might be able to give Patrick Mahomes a little bit of trouble. The best way to get down the field is by handing it off to your best running back. Tonight, it's going to be Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Chargers vs. Chiefs TNF Picks

  • Chiefs Moneyline (-162)
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire Over 55.5 Rushing Yards (-125)
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire Anytime Touchdown (+100)
