Fantasy Football Week 16: 8 Streamers, Sleepers, and Waiver Wire Adds

Streamers are players you can plug and play each week to fill a void in your fantasy football lineups. These players are rostered in a low percentage of leagues and should be available for you to pick up.

I will focus on the best player at each position every week who are rostered in under 50% of leagues. Typically, these will be guys you won’t want to drop too much of your free-agent acquisition budget (FAAB) on as they will be mostly short-term solutions.

The hope is that the players listed below will perform well enough to make up for any starters you may have to sit due to injury, suspension, or bye weeks. Maybe they even become viable starters for your fantasy teams going forward.

Quarterback

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons

Jared Goff and the Lions have turned a page. They have won 2 of their last 3 games and Jared Goff has been a huge reason for it. Goff has embraced other players stepping up while Hockenson and Swift has missed time. He has been comfortable targeting Amon-Ra St. Brown and former Rams teammate, Josh Reynolds.

Goff has multiple TD passes in 3 of his last 4 games. He gets a much easier opponent in Week 16 (Atlanta Falcons) than the Arizona Cardinals who he just threw 3 touchdowns against in Week 15.

The Falcons have given up the 2nd most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. I expect Goff to continue his hot-streak and have another multi-touchdown day in Week 16.

Suggested FAAB: 20%

Additional Week 16 QB Streamer to Consider

  • Davis Mills, Houston Texans (vs Los Angeles Chargers) - FAAB: 5%

Running Back

Duke Johnson, Miami Dolphins @ New Orleans Saints

The running back position has been incredibly difficult to rely on this season. Just when you think Myles Gaskin is going to have a big day, Duke Johnson steps in and ruins your plans. He wasn’t just someone that hindered Gaskin’s fantasy outlook, he had himself a day in Week 15.

Duke Johnson ran 22 times for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns against the New York Jets. He also caught a pass for 20 yards.

The New Orleans Saints are much better against running backs than the Jets, but seeing how efficient Johnson was last week can only lead to the Dolphins giving him more opportunities in Week 16. He was only targeted once last week, but he is no stranger as a receiving back. That is something I believe we will see a lot more from him next week against the Saints.

Suggested FAAB: 20%

Additional Week 16 RB Streamer to Consider

  • Ameer Abdullah, Carolina Panthers (vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - FAAB: 6%

Wide Receiver

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons

This is no longer a fluke streak for Amon-Ra St. Brown. He now has double-digit targets in each of his last 3 games. Jared Goff has leaned heavily on him while Swift and Hockenson has missed time. It’s paid off every time.

The Lions have won their first two games of the season and are 2-1 in games where St. Brown has double-digit targets. St. Brown has been efficient with his opportunities, catching 74% of his 35 targets in his last 3 games. He’s gone over 70 yards in each and has scored in 2 of those 3 games.

Even when Swift and Hockenson come back into the picture, St. Brown has earned his target share.

The Atlanta Falcons have given up the 8th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year.

Suggested FAAB: 18%

Additional Week 16 WR Streamer to Consider

  • Marquez Callaway, New Orleans Saints (vs Miami Dolphins) - FAAB: 12%

Tight End

Jared Cook, Los Angeles Chargers @ Houston Texans

Jared Cook has been a little hit or miss, but that is par for the course when it comes to the tight end position. There are encouraging trends for Cook to give us hope for his fantasy outlook in Week 16.

Cook has been targeted 5 or more times in 4 of his last 5 games. He has scored 2 touchdowns in 2 of his last 4 games. His matchup this week is most encouraging.

The Houston Texans have given up the 7th most fantasy points to tight ends. They have given up 7 touchdowns to the position this year. Even with how bad Trevor Lawrence has been, the Texans just gave up 60 yards to Jaguars tight end, James O’Shaughnessy.

Jared Cook has Justin Herbert throwing to him. I’m liking his chances to score against the Texans this weekend.

Suggested FAAB: 9%

Additional Week 16 TE Streamer to Consider

  • Gerald Everett, Seattle Seahawks (vs Chicago Bears) - FAAB: 9%
