Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Football Team prediction and pick for their Week 17 matchup. With a potential playoff spot of the line, can the Eagles hold off the WFT or will Washington pull off the upset? Find out here

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Football Team Prediction: Can Washington Upset the Eagles At Home?

The Philadelphia Eagles are over COVID protocols. This week, it’s been announced that the Eagles are separating quarterbacks for safety. By doing this, it’ll give the Eagles a good chance of having one of their two quarterbacks get the start if something were to happen to the other. At 8-7 on the year, the Eagles are still fighting for an NFC Wild Card position and have a chance to get win number nine on the road against Washington. Meanwhile, Washington will start to get some players back this week after having to deal with COVID protocols the last two weeks with many players. But after a 56-14 loss to Dallas last weekend, will getting back some players really make such a big difference? Here are our picks and predictions for the NFC East game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Football Team.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Football Team Prediction

I’m not so sure there’s any coming back from a 56-14 deficit from last week. The Washington Football Team was without plenty of players in the last couple of weeks, but unfortunately, many teams have been, just like Washington. None lost a game this badly.

Washington has now lost three straight games after a long winning streak in the month of November. Either way, at 6-9 on the season, Washington’s playoff dreams are basically over.

The Eagles are scoring 26.5 points per game while accumulating 375.4 yards per game. The offense started slowly against the Giants but with help from the defense, everything started to click in a 34-10 win. The Eagles have now won four of their last five games and have scored at least 27 or more points in every win in those four games. Washington’s defense is allowing 27.1 points per game, so there’s a great chance that the Eagles dominate offensively in this game. At home, a couple of weeks ago, the Eagles literally scored 27 and defeated the Football Team, 27-17.

In that game, it was Jalen Hurts against Garrett Gilbert for Washington. Hurts threw for just under 300 yards on 20 completions with 26 attempts. Sanders rushed for 131 yards on 18 carries. However, Sanders won’t be available in this game.

Still, there’s lots of potential for whoever runs the football for the Eagles in this game. Hurts has been a difference maker against poor defenses and that shouldn’t change against the Football Team. The Eagles are much more balanced on offense than people want to give them credit for.

The offensive line has played well and Hurts, surprisingly, is leading his team into playoff contention. That’s big growth right there. Let’s take the Eagles on the road.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Football Team Pick

  • Eagles -3.5 (-110)
