Seahawks vs. Lions Prediction

There are lots of games this week where teams have nothing to play for, so you have to find out who is motivated to win this week and who isn't. We will pick the third-best team in the league to win. Third best you say in a game with two teams under .500? This year, the Detroit Lions are the third-best team ATS, going 10-5. When a team is 10-5 ATS, that says the lines have been off all year and not giving this team, it's due, or they are a great team and cover any spread no matter what. It's not the latter, as the Lions were the last team to win a game, but this team has heart and tries every week. Last week without their Quarterback, best running back, best receiver (their Tight End), they almost won another game losing by 4, but they were in a position to win again late. This team tries every week and has covered 6 out of 7, including probably the biggest upset of the year, beating Arizona outright as a 13 point dog. Detroit is supposed to have their regular Quarterback back in Jared Goff and running back Deandre Swift, which will make them even better this week. The hot ats team, we feel, has a great chance of winning this game outright as this team has been trying hard every week (half their games have been one-score games). Many players have developed, including Amon Ra Brown, who has 35 catches in the last four weeks and is looking like a future #1 receiver, and against the poor Seattle pass defense (31st in the league), we expect another big game from him.

Seattle has to be one of if not the most disappointing teams in the NFL this year. They blew a double-digit lead to the lowly Bears last week and a third-string quarterback even if it was Nick Foles. Pete Caroll may have to go because this is the first time he has lost ten or more in Seattle and the first time they finished dead last in the NFC West. In his 12 years. How can Seattle get excited today playing a meaningless game with a quarterback who wants out (the word is Wilson won't be back next year, and we believe it) and they have already shown us they don't care about that embarrassment last week(blowing a double-digit lead in the 4th is embarrassing against the lowly Bears). As we mentioned earlier, the Seattle defense can't stop the pass, and their offense hasn't been scoring much as they have only thrown for over 200 yards twice in their last ten games. This team is 20th in points scored and has even been shut out this year. They also have six games of under 267 total yards of offense. There is only one word to describe this offense, and that's pathetic.

Seattle has called it a year after last week, and with the 3rd best ats team getting more than a touchdown, there is only one way to go. If the Lions win this game outright, it won't surprise us. Take the team that has done what we need a team to do to cover the spread. The Lions cover and possibly beat the last place Seahawks tonight.
