Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction
For the Colts, Sunday's game is a must-win. The playoffs came early. Indianapolis won't want to leave their playoff hopes in the hands of other teams. All the Colts need to do is defeat a 2-14 Jaguars team. The Jaguars are led by rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. On the season, he has 10 touchdowns thrown and 17 interceptions. Meanwhile, the top running back in James Robinson is now out for the year with a season-ending injury. The offense has only averaged 14.2 points per game while the defense has given up 27.9 points per game. The averages became worse after last week's debacle, losing 50-10 to the New England Patriots. It would be a cool story if the Jaguars found a way to upset the Colts, but it's just unreasonable at this point. The Jaguars couldn't even find a way to beat the New York Jets earlier this year. This season for the Jaguars has been a disaster and it'll finish that way. The Jaguars don't have a legitimate head coach right now and really didn't develop Lawrence into anywhere close to a star yet. I would even say Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, and Mac Jones have all played better than Lawrence. Of course, it's all about the right system and fit, but Lawrence really hasn't proven much of anything. The Colts can score points at a high rate, averaging 27.5 points per game, and the defense, after struggling to start the season, has stepped up in a big way, especially in the secondary. Lawrence has one interception per game this season. You can count on Indianapolis grabbing at least one more.
