NFL Week 18 Picks: Three Best Bets to Make Right Now

It is that time to lock in our best three NFL bets for the week early in the week. Over the last four weeks, Matt is 10-2 on these picks, including an impressive 3-0 showing last week in Week 17. So, let's get into it.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Predicion

49ers vs. Rams odds

The first play I am turning to is an NFC West battle between the San Fransico 49ers and the LA Rams.

This will be one of the best games of the week and is a pivotal game for both of these teams. The Rams have a chance to lock up the NFC West, while the 49ers will have an opportunity to make the playoffs by simply winning this game this week. But, that task is not always so simple when you face a team as talented as the LA Rams.

The 49ers are coming off a good win over the Houston Texans, despite trailing in the first half. The quarterback for that game was rookie Trey Lance who is not expected to start this weekend as the 49ers are confident that Jimmy Garoppolo will be good to go.

The play I am going with is the 49ers +4.5. I love to back divisional dogs, but let's dissect this game on Sunday a bit and where the 49ers hold some distinct advantages. The first advantage is the 49ers have owned the rams in the McVay vs. Shanahan era. I believe the creativity of Shanahan will be good enough to lead the Niners' offense against a Rams defense that has had some issues at times handling the run. I think the 49ers will play with their hair on fire as this is a playoff game for them. The Rams would love to win the division and compete in this one, but the difference is we get points with the 49ers here in this game. I will gladly take points in a game I expect to be great from start to finish.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction

Saints vs. Falcons odds

The second play I am turning to will again be a huge matchup to watch this weekend as the New Orleans Saints battle the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints need some things to go their way to get into the postseason. The first is to win this game against the Atlanta Falcons, a team they should beat on Sunday.

I have studied up and down and tried to find a normal sharp angle in this game, but I can not back the Atlanta Falcons in any form. This Falcons' defense has struggled all season long, and their offense has not been much better, especially in the red zone. I think Sean Payton has a great game plan in this game and the Saints' defense dominates this one. I will be backing the Saints by a field goal on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Prediction

Chargers vs. Raiders odds

The final play I am going with comes from the Game of the Week as one of these teams will have an opportunity to play in the postseason. This ise an AFC West battle between the LA Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders.

These teams played earlier in the season, and the Chargers were able to take care of business. The Raiders made a big second-half comeback in that game, but they will have to play a full game this weekend. The play I am turning to in this game is to back the Las Vegas Raiders, with the points.

I love the way Derek Carr is playing this season, and I believe he is having one of the most underrated seasons of any player in the NFL. The Raiders have had to deal with many issues on and off the field this season and are still in a position to make the postseason. I am going to take them with the points in a game that is basically a home game for each time, but I expect there to be more Raiders fans than Chargers. Kick back and enjoy this game. It is going to be a great one from start to finish and a little preview into the NFL Playoffs.
