Last week, we absolutely nailed our Jaguars vs. Patriots Same Game Parlay, and I'm excited to keep the hot streak going this week. This is probably the biggest game of the year for the 49ers, and rookie quarterback Trey Lance could very well be starting at quarterback. The Rams are playing for seeding purposes, but it is very clear there is gonna be a slight motivation mismatch. If the 49ers win, they are in, and I'm expecting a top tier gameplan from coach Kyle Shanahan.

Elijah Mitchell 55+ Rushing Yards and Anytime TD

Let's start with Elijah Mitchell. The rookie running back has been phenomenal this season, taking over as the true workhorse in this backfield. Mitchell played 10 full games this season (nine healthy), and has hit this number in all but two games (one due to leaving early with injury).

In the 49ers' last matchup against the Rams, Mitchell ran the ball a shocking 27 times for 97 yards in an easy win. While this week should be a closer game, the 49ers will need to establish a strong run game to be successful right here. Shanahan has had McVay's number over the past couple years, and a lot has to do with his premier game planning.

In his nine healthy games, Mitchell has six touchdowns, five on the ground and one through the air. Additionally, he is implied for 18 carries this week, and in games where he has at least 18 carries, he had a touchdown in six of seven. Trey Lance being in at quarterback opens up plenty of new red zone opportunities, Mitchell should see better running lines and I'd bet Lance gets at least 1 RPO with Mitchell running a short route if Lance decides to not keep it himself.

Sony Michel 55+ Rushing Yards

Who knew that Sony Michel would be December's leading rusher, going over in five straight games since taking over the starting role. In those games, he's gone:

  • 19-74-1 vs BAL
  • 27-131-1 vs MIN
  • 18-92-0 vs SEA
  • 20-79-0 vs ARI
  • 24-121-1 vs JAX

During this span, Michel really did everything you want from a lead running back. He crushed the bad teams, going for 131 vs. Minnesota and 121 vs. Jacksonville, while also hitting this number against an incredibly tough Baltimore rush defense. While the 49ers are a great rush defense, seeing Michel's role be so defined last week gave me the confidence to run it back this week.
