Bengals vs. Raiders Prediction
Let's look real quick at what just happened last week. The Bengals had nothing to play for. They gave their stars an extra week off and still played a game down to the wire. The Raiders played a playoff game, the best game, and the season's longest game. What an ending it was. We will talk about the timeout as long as we have the Chris Webber timeout. The Raiders kicked the Chargers out of the playoffs and got to go across the country after a brutal game at home and play one of the best offenses and young teams in the game as a reward.
We can talk about the past, but it won't matter today. The Bengals have heard about how they are 0-8 there last eight playoff games, but these were games before Mr. Burrow got there. Burrow to Chase was terrific this year, and Joe Mixon wasn't so bad himself making this a three-headed monster on offense that helped this team win 10 games. These teams have played each other this season, and it was ugly as the Bengals pulled away in the 4th and won 32-13 in Las Vegas. What makes that game even crazier is that Burrow had his worst performance of his career yards, only getting 148 passing. The Bengals let Mixon do his thing, and he gained 123 yards and 2 touchdowns in one of his best games of the year. Las Vegas was a lousy rush defense this year and even worse points-wise as they were 26th in the league, giving up almost 26 a game. Cincy took advantage and beat both of those numbers the first time.
The Raiders, as we mentioned, just played a playoff game, but they have been for weeks because they had to win their last 4 to make it to Cincy today. They got their best weapon back in tight end Darren Waller, but he was rusty. We saw making only 2 catches on 9 targets last week. He should be better, but this Raiders team has been very inconsistent on offense, with 7 of their last 10 games scoring 17 or less, and the other 3 were 23, 35, 36 (2 went to overtime), showing how it's hit or miss. Running Back Josh Jacobs was great last week, but he is not 100%, and they haven't had a running game all year (Drake is out the backup), ranking 28th with only 95 yards a game. This team is too inconsistent and makes too many mistakes, and tries to get cute with gimmick plays and using their backup quarterback. We feel the game last week took a lot out of this team as well, and it doesn't help they have to travel to Cincy, where this team will be as fired up as ever to win a playoff game after 32 years, finally.
We have Big Game Joe as he showed in the Championship game, we have home field, we have a more consistent and better spread out offense playing at home pretty much off a bye, and they have already shown us they can beat the Raiders, blowing them out in Las Vegas just a few months ago. Better team, Better spot lay the points we see -5.5 at numerous books and watch Big game Joe deliver for us. BENGALS move on and make us a little cash with the 10 point win today.
