Handicapper Matt McCuen is here with his best bet for the Sunday night NFC Championship between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
ANALYSIS

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Pick: Do Oddsmakers Have This One Right?

The NFC Championship is set, and what a battle we have ahead for Sunday afternoon. The San Fransico 49ers will battle against the Los Angeles Rams for the rights to the Super Bowl. These two teams played twice during the regular season, and the 49ers won both games. Jimmy Garoppolo has owned the Rams in his NFL career, and the 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has owned Sean McVay and the Rams in his career. The stage is set for Sunday as these rivals will meet up for the third time this season.

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Line Movement

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Prediction

These two teams played in the last week of the season, and it looked like it was going to be a runaway win for the Rams. The 49ers made a seventeen-point second-half come back to win the game and get into the postseason. The 49ers are now coming off back-to-back wins as underdogs in the playoffs, the first being over the Dallas Cowboys and the second one being a win over the Green Bay Packers in a game that they did not score an offensive touchdown. The 49ers have had some good luck and clutch play when it has mattered during the postseason.

The Rams come into this game after a dominant first-round win over the Arizona Cardinals and a nail-biter victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Rams looked like they had a runaway win as they had a 27-3 lead over the Bucs in the second half, but then the Rams blew the game, and the Bucs tied it up at 27. The Rams were able to throw a deep ball late to Cooper Kupp and hit a game-winning field goal. The stage is set for a great game on Sunday, and I can not wait to kick back and enjoy this game!

The pick I am going with on Sunday is going to be to back the home team in the Rams at minus three. This is my favorite bet of the NFL season, and I will get into why.

The first reason is it is so hard to beat a team three times in one season and twice in their own place. The Rams are the better team than the 49ers on both sides of the football, and I believe they will be able to take advantage of the 49er's holes. The first thing is going to be rushing the passer. This is one of the best defensive fronts in all of the NFL. With Von Miller and Aaron Donald leading the charge and facing a nonmobile quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo, they should have a field day getting to the quarterback.

This 49ers team did not score a touchdown against Green Bay last weekend on the offensive side of the football. I think they will struggle in this one to put up points, which is a recipe for disaster in this game. The last reason is Matthew Stafford is playing unbelievable football right now. The Rams turnovers yesterday were all by players not named Matthew Stafford, and he is locked in at the moment. I believe that the Rams will be able to continue to move the ball at will in this game against this 49ers defense. I am trusting the better team who is home and in a great spot to win this game. I do not think the 49ers beat the Rams three times in one season, especially as the road team. I am taking the Rams here, and I think this line continues to jump during the week.
