Right after the AFC side of the equation is set, the 49ers and Rams will square off in Los Angeles to decide the NFC team destined for Super Bowl LVI. In what will be their third matchup of the season, let's take a closer look at how things could play out with the conference on the line.
Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Line Movement
Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Same-Game Parlay
Leg 1: Rams to Win
While it is certainly hard to ignore the 49ers have won the past six straight between these two, including the last game of the regular season to punch their ticket to the postseason, I'm not biting. Having the edge at nearly every position, including coaching, I'm taking the Rams in this one though expect it to be close and hence not touching the spread.
Expect Stafford to have yet another monster game, and for Coach McVay and company to have dialed up a masterpiece to reach their second Super Bowl in three years.
Leg 2: Cam Akers Touchdown
Despite having yet to score this postseason, Akers comes into this game still the workhorse for the Rams racking up 41 touches over two games thus far. Having nearly cost them this opportunity with a fumble late vs. the Bucs, I expect a motivated Akers to be the catalyst that puts them over the edge in this one.
Don't forget, Akers missed the entire 2021 regular season with an achilles tear, and in many ways, should just be getting started in his production.
Leg 3: Jimmy Garoppolo Under 219.5 Passing Yards
While Jimmy G has been adequate this postseason, he's not been much more than just that. In his two games, he's averaging 152 yards per with an average completion of just 6.9 yards. His TD:INT ratio of 0:2 is amongst the worst of any quarterback this postseason, and things will get even more difficult against one of the best pass rushes in football on Sunday night.
