ANALYSIS

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals AFC Championship Pick: Bank on the Bengals Offense

The NFL is down to the final four after what they are calling the best weekend of playoff football ever. Let's hope we have two more games that come down to the wire or overtime. Both games are rematches, and the first game wasn't as entertaining or crazy as Chiefs vs. Bills last week, but the first Bengals vs. Chiefs game did come down to a Field Goal as time expired, and Evan "Money" McPherson won the game with a walk-off kick. Can he do it again after making four field goals last week to get the Bengals into the Super Bowl? Hopefully, our answer is not because we need and want touchdowns today from the Bengals.

Last week the Bengal's offense stalled, and they were forced to kick field goals as they played a great defensive team and a team that enjoys running the clock. This week they are not playing a team that runs the ball as Kansas City was right in the middle of the pack, and that's when they had a number one running back. With injuries, they are now a committee (with the emergence of McKinnon), and facing a passing defense that was 26th means they are going to throw on this defense because that's what they do best (#4 this year).

We saw last week that Buffalo knew they weren't going to beat the Chiefs kicking field goals, and they didn't until they were forced to. It was four-down territory on every drive, and I don't think the Bengals didn't see that and won't duplicate it today.

The Bengals were the #7 offense scoring over 27 points a game. The Chiefs have gone over seven games in a row because their defense gives up points, especially the last four weeks 36-21-24-and 34 to these same Bengals. The fact that the Bengals stalled four times last week and kicked field goals tells us the offense is fine. They need to make a few adjustments and play a defense that clearly just showed us last week.

They are not the strength of the team. We feel you changed two of those four field goals into touchdowns, and they had 27 points last week. That's our number for this game. We see the Bengals getting at least 27 points in this game. The total for this game is around the 54-55 range depending on where you look, and if we only need 23 to win then, we don't care how many the Chiefs gets. The Chiefs have gone over 7 in a row. Will it be 8? Possibly, but all that matters is we get three touchdowns and a field goal, and we feel very confident that the Bengals will get 23 or more points on this bad Chiefs defense. The Bengals have been a surprise team all year. Let's get one more surprise today and cash that team total. We played over 22.5 (-120) at DraftKings. If you want to win, you should do the same.
