Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Same-Game Parlay: Will Joe Mixon and the Bengals Start Hot?

The Cincinnati Bengals return home to defend their AFC Championship banner against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mitchell Trubisky has replaced Ben Roethlisberger. Meanwhile, the Bengals' offensive line woes were thoroughly addressed this off-season.

This matchup has a lot of different outcomes but I will be focusing on a three-leg same-game parlay that includes a team total, an anytime touchdown scorer, and a points total pick. Let's break down this NFL pick for Week 1.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Same-Game Parlay Picks

3-Leg Same-Game Parlay (+700) (Bet $100 to Win $700)

LEG 1: JOE MIXON ANYTIME TOUCHDOWN SCORER

Despite a lackluster offensive line in 2021, Joe Mixon finished with a career year in carries (292), rushing yards (1,205), rushing touchdowns (13), and receiving yards (314) during the Bengals' fairy tale season.

Mixon was held without a touchdown in the first matchup against the Steelers last year, but he bounced back with a monstrous 28-165-2 on the ground during their second matchup at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. The Bengals' offensive line signed La'el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras to bolster protection for Joe Burrow and manufacture bigger running lanes for Mixon. I expect Mixon to have several goal-line touches against a talented but vulnerable Steelers front-seven.

LEG 2: STEELERS UNDER 17.5 TOTAL POINTS

The Steelers were dominated by the Bengals in both of their matchups last season, scoring ten points in each outing. Yes, Mitchell Trubisky has been named Pittsburgh's team captain and will replace Ben Roethlisberger's sluggish throwing ability. An improved arm and added mobility will add some flavor to the Steelers' offense, but it won't be enough to overcome Cincinnati's star-studded defense.

Trubisky did find success during his only matchup against the Bengals during his rookie season with the Bears. He committed zero turnovers and went 25-32 for 271 yards and two total touchdowns, but this was against a Cincinnati defense lacking talent at every level. Pittsburgh has one of the league's worst offensive lines, which means Trubisky will be under constant duress in the pocket. 17 or fewer points is a comfortable point total for the rebuilt Pittsburgh offense.

LEG 3: OVER 44.5 TOTAL POINTS

The Bengals will need to generate anywhere from 28 to 45 points on offense in this same-game parlay. As green as Pittsburgh is on offense with a lackluster offensive line and an unproven quarterback, I don't expect the Steelers to get blanked. Trubisky's mobility will extend plays outside of the pocket and OC Matt Canada will likely stick with the quick passes he implemented under Roethlisberger to alleviate the continuous pressure.

Najee Harris is a talented running back who can earn yards without support from his offensive line. The Steelers should be able to move the ball well enough to get within field goal range, especially if the Bengals get off to a quick start. Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon are exceptionally talented and possess high levels of continuity with their superstar quarterback. Another 41-10 rout by Cincinnati is highly likely, sealing a bountiful +700 payout to start the 2022 NFL season.
