Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos Prediction
Russell Wilson had spent his entire career to this point in Seattle as many of you are aware and it’s hard to say that he had a bad career there. In his 10 seasons there they had highs and lows including a Super Bowl Victory but in football time that was ages ago. They won the Super Bowl back in 2014 over the Broncos and made an appearance to defend their title in the next season; they have not made it back since.Â
Obviously, blame can come all over and if you pay attention to football you know things come into effect every season differently but Wilson publicly made it known that he wasn’t happy there at the end of his career. He didn’t believe they surrounded him with what he needed to succeed. They disagreed on offensive coordinator hires and philosophies. They also never really put a good offensive line around him.Â
My whole write-up is not about him so I’m going to stop there but I want to make it known how he feels going into this. He wants to win this game.Â
The Seahawks are supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league this season and have the short side of the stick on both sides of the ball here in this one. Geno Smith gets the start and although I don’t think he is awful he is well short of spectacular and I highly doubt he can put enough puts on the board tonight to outshoot Wilson if it comes down to it. I’m not sure if Drew Lock sees the field tonight and although I personally believe he is the more capable of the two he lacks experience and needs reps. The kid was great in college but hasn’t shown more than a glimpse of that here in the NFL.Â
I don’t know if this will be a blowout, I think it can start slow. Wilson and other starters did not take reps in the preseason so it may take a drive or two to get underway. On the other side of things, I don’t think Seattle hits the ground running at all. I’m not going to mess around with first-half plays for that reason but as long as turnovers are kept in check and there are not a billion missed kicks like yesterday's games, I think Denver wins comfortably in the end. I am buying the hook here for a little caution, I hate playing 1/2 lines anyways.Â
