Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Prediction

The Seahawks come into this game with a lot of new faces on their offense. Long-time quarterback, Russell Wilson, is now in Denver and productive running back, Chris Carson, has retired due to injuries. Geno Smtih now takes control of the Seattle offense and while Smith has been in the league a long time, Smith simply does not have the talent to be productive against the caliber of defense that Denver brings into this matchup.

The Broncos were third in the league last season in the least defensive points allowed and eighth in the least yards allowed per game so they have been very solid on that side of the ball. The Broncos' biggest issue last season was that they did not have the offensive production or proper quarterback play to match their strong defensive unit. The Broncos have now added Pro Bowler Russell Wilson who should bring stability and explosiveness to an offense that was desperate for a player like him.

In the backfield, it is unclear who will assume the bulk of the duties, but Denver has two very capable running backs in second year back Javonte Williams and veteran Melvin Gordon. The Seahawks were a middle-of-the-pack run defense last season and were also in the bottom half of the league in sacks, so I do not anticipate a strong defensive effort from Seattle tonight. The Broncos' identity for a few years now has been all about defense and they have a lot of continuity on that side of the ball.

I fully expect this Denver defensive unit to make things tough for Geno Smith and what should be an inconsistent Seattle offense, considering how much turnover and uncertainty Seattle has on that side of the ball. With that being said, I am rolling with Broncos 1H -3.5 at -105 and Broncos Full Game at -6 -110 (Bookmaker) for 0.5u each for a 1U position on the Broncos. I am also rolling with a 7-point teaser at -140 for 1U with Broncos +0.5 and the UNDER 51 as I think Denver wins a low-scoring game tonight.
