Both teams lost their Week 1 matchup, and they both will be looking to even out their record in Week 2. For the Raiders, this game will act as their home opener, as their Week One matchup was over in Los Angeles against their divisional rivals the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Cardinals played another AFC West team in their Week 1 matchup, losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes threw for five touchdowns on the Cardinals. Expect Derek Carr and the Raiders’ offense to be able to throw all over the Cardinals' defense.
Davante Adams has been a top wide receiver in the league for years, and he’s been Aaron Roders’ No. 1 option for a while now, too. Now playing with his college QB, Adams was targeted 17 times as the Raiders' No. 1 option in Week 1, catching ten of the targets for 141 yards. With the 17 targets, Adams was targeted on nearly half of Carr's passes.
Because of the Cardinal’s weak secondary, and Adams already catching 10 passes against a good secondary, you can assume Adams will get the targets needed to cover his player prop of over 7.5 receptions in Week 2.
One can assume, with the Cardinals' ability to put up points, that this game could end up becoming a shootout between the two teams, with both teams scoring multiple touchdowns. Adams' ability to catch contested passes increases his chances of getting targeted in the red zone, and in a shootout, you can expect the Raiders to get the opportunity quite a bit.
