Best Week 2 Anytime TD Bets
Tee Higgins (+200) (Bet $100 to Win $200)
The DISRESPECT! Yes, the Cowboys did a good job slowing down Tom Brady in Week 1 but they are facing a pissed-off Joe Burrow and company here in Week 2 with their backup quarterback. Cincinnati should have multiple scoring opportunities in this one.
Higgins is currently listed as Questionable at the time of writing this after suffering a concussion in Week 1 but assuming he plays this is a no-brainer for me. Trevon Diggs may shadow him and that doesn't scare me. Diggs allowed the most receiving yards in coverage last season in the NFL. The disrespect for Higgins is glaring. The best price on Chase is +115 and all the way down to -155 at some shops. Higgins is at +200 at the same sportsbook that has Chase at -155. Incredible line discrepancy between the two. Higgins and Chase have run 483 routes together. Higgins has out-targeted Chase 110 to 95. The Cowboys defense deployed man-to-man coverage in Week 1 at the second highest rate in the NFL. Higgins and Chase are both set to explode here in Week 2.
Zach Ertz (+230) (Bet $100 to Win $230)
*Odds Available at DraftKings*
Ertz was tied for the league lead in red zone targets just a year ago and he found the end zone in Week 1, granted it was garbage time but it still counts as six! The Raiders defense continues to be a playground for opposing tight ends as they struggled to contain the Chargers in Week 1. Gerald Everett caught 3 passes for 54 yards and a score. In 2021 the Raiders defense allowed the third most touchdowns to tight ends. The Raiders versus the Cardinals has the second-highest over/under on the slate this week at 51.5. With the Cardinals still without other top targets, Ertz has a great chance to contribute to that total on Sunday.
Hunter Renfrow (+175) (Bet $100 to Win $175)
The Cardinals allowed the most touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in 2021. The Raiders and Cardinals game figures to be one of the best of the week. I just told you a minute ago that this total currently sits at 51.5 points, and the Raiders implied team total of 28.5 is tied with the Rams for the highest of any team this Sunday! The Cardinals defense allowed a staggering 9.2 yards per passing attempt and five touchdown passes against the Chiefs in Week 1! FIVE! Derek Carr had the most success last week in the middle of the field and Arizona allowed 18 of 20 passes to be caught in the middle in Week 1.
There's a chance that Carr and the Raiders continue to force-feed Davante Adams again in Week 2 after he reeled in a team-high 10 of his 17 targets in his Raiders debut but his odds at -150 just aren't providing any value. Two touchdowns for Adams at +300 is enticing but getting Renfrow at these odds for one score makes the most sense. Renfrow ran 37 out of possible 43 routes in Week 1. He scored nine times a season ago and scored in 4 of the last 5 games for Las Vegas in 2021. Although he might look like your uncle this man can play football at a high level. Don't confuse him for the Hunter Renfroe that plays MLB for the Milwaukee Brewers. This Renfrow scores touchdowns. The Cardinals secondary will likely be one we pick on all season long and Mecole Hardman last week at +300 was just the tip of the iceberg.
Trey Lance (+200) (Bet $100 to Win $200)
The jury is still out on Trey Lance but one thing is for certain -- he is a threat to run on every snap. Lance has 44 rush attempts in four career appearances. Lamar Jackson is the only quarterback in NFL history to clear 150 rush attempts in a single season and Lance is on pace to shatter that. The Seattle defense shocked us all on Monday night but they did allow 433 yards to the Broncos with 182 of them going to the Denver running backs. Lance ran 13 times for 54 yards in the Week 1 monsoon in Chicago. Three of the 13 attempts came in the red zone. With starting running back Elijah Mitchell injured it makes sense that Lance may even see even more rushing opportunities. The 49ers defense is elite and will shut down the Seahawks offense. This Sunday, Lance and the 49ers won't need an arc and they will dominate the Seahawks in their home opener.
Courtland Sutton (+135) (Bet $100 to Win $135)
*Odds Available at DraftKings*
In 2021, the Texans allowed a league-high 8.3 yards per target, and Wilson owns the highest deep-pass touchdown rate since 2018 in the NFL! The Broncos are ripe for a bounce back in their home opener, much like the 49ers are. Sutton paced the Broncos with 45 routes in Week 1. To open the season the Texans allowed 352 passing yards to the Colts. I'm not excited about the price here but Sutton will lead the way in Russell Wilson's debut in Denver. Courtland Sutton is set up to be Wilson's top red zone target this season and the 6-foot-4 receiver will find paydirt in Week 2.
Allen Robinson (+140) (Bet $100 to Win $140) - *BANKER* - 2 Units
The Rams implied team total in Week 2 is 29 points. Just an insane number. The defending Super Bowl champs were embarrassed on opening night and they will be out to prove it was just a one-week Super Bowl hangover. I need a piece of the Rams pie here in Week 2. A Cooper Kupp touchdown doesn't provide any value whatsoever at -225 at some sportsbooks but his 2 TDs at (+360) are enticing especially with his soft matchup against cornerback Dee Alford formerly with the Canadian Football League in 2021. I'm opting for a coming-out party and vintage A-Rob game here in Week 2.
Robinson was on the field for 49 passing plays and ran a route on 48 of them but only garnered two targets! He played 97% of the Rams snaps and finished with 2 targets! I think the Rams blend in their playcalling much better here in Week 2 and scheme up ways to get Robinson involved early and often. He has a tough matchup on the outside as Casey Hayward and AJ Terrell are one of the only strengths of the Falcons defense but they play man-to-man more often and that is where A-Rob excels. In Week 1 the Bills played zone on 97% of the snaps. Unlike against the Bills, Stafford will have plenty of time to throw as the Falcons pass rush is non-existent. AJ Terrell allowed two touchdowns in man coverage in Week 1 and the Falcons were tied for the fifth-most scores allowed to wide receivers in 2021 and got lit up in the fourth quarter in Week 1 by Jameis Winston. The Rams were third in red zone passing a year ago and as I mentioned A-Rob was among the top 25 receivers in the NFL at beating man coverage.
