Irv Smith Jr. (+320) (Bet $100 to Win $320)
The Eagles secondary is extremely strong entering 2022 with Darius Slay and James Bradberry working on the outside and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson now playing safety. Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson will have their hands full leaving room for Irv Smith in Week 2 to step up. The Eagles defense was terrible slowing down tight ends a season ago when they allowed a tight end to score in 11 of 17 games, giving up the most touchdowns and receptions to the position. The only concern here is Smith saw limited snaps in Week 1. He played just 19 of 62 snaps in Week 1. He came off the bench while Johnny Mundt got the start. This is what Smith said after Week 1 on why he was so limited. "I missed a lot of camp, we didn't want to kind of rush me into things too much. Just wanted to get a feel and keep building on it." He missed last season because of a knee injury and had thumb surgery on August 2 during the preseason. Despite barely playing, Kirk Cousins managed to target him once in the end zone. I believe in his talent and the matchup could not be any better for a coming-out party.
Kenneth Gainwell (+300) (Bet $100 to Win $300)
Gainwell was the only other Eagles player, not named AJ Brown to receive a target in the red zone in Week 1. In a game the Eagles are favored and project to have a ton of plays on Monday night, I like an Eagles running back to find the end zone in Week 2. The Vikings have a below-average run defense and despite slowing down Rodgers in Week 1 they allowed AJ Dillon to find the end zone. Miles Sanders did score in Week 1 after failing to do so all of last season and is the starting running back for Philadelphia but Gainwell is the clear-cut passing down back for the Eagles. He scored 4 touchdowns last season and he also scored in Week 1 against the Lions. The Vikings were tied for the fourth-most scores to running backs through the air in 2021 and don't possess an overwhelming defensive line.
Devonta Smith (+250) (Bet $100 to Win $250)
The Vikings secondary was torched time and time again by wide receivers a season ago. Allowing the most receptions, yards, and the fifth-most scores to the position! Yes, they shut down Aaron Rodgers and his skeleton receiving corps in Week 1 but the Eagles have weapons all over the field. No quarterback has created more explosive plays per game since the start of last season than Jalen Hurts. Smith led the Eagles in routes in Week 1 but failed to secure any of his three targets. Smith scored just four times last season but the matchup doesn't get much juicier than this. A bounce-back performance is expected by him and that starts with him finding paydirt!
