Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans Prediction

The Bills steamrolled the Rams in the second half of their game in the NFL season opener and now they travel back home against a Titans squad who looked very lackluster in their opening game.

The Titans forced a 3 and out and then drove down the field for a touchdown to start the game in what looked like was going to be a Titans blowout but then the game flipped. The Titans continued to drive the ball down the field, but they were unable to put the ball in the endzone and were forced to settle for Field Goals. Still, the Titans would eventually have a 13-0 advantage and a very comfortable lead. The Titans inability to finish drives is what kept the door open for the Giants who would then score two quick touchdowns to tie the game and eventually defeat the Titans after scoring a late TD and converting on a clutch 2-point conversion for the win.

Fast forward to this game and we have the Buffalo Bills who are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl and had one of the most impressive performances in Week 1 against one of the biggest underperformers of Week 1. However, I think we will see a different Titans team this week.

The Bills forced Stafford into a lot of tough spots as they had pressure on him all night and caused him to throw 3 interceptions. Stafford has always been known as a gunslinger and that ended up being his downfall. In this matchup tonight, the Bills will square off against Ryan Tannehill and a Titans offense that is centered around running the ball and managing the game. Tannehill is a very competent quarterback who is usually very sure-handed with the ball as the majority of the offense revolves around the effectiveness of Derrick Henry and their ability to get a solid push on the offensive line. The Bills have an excellent pass rush, but I anticipate the Titans coming up with an offensive scheme to combat this.

I envision the Titans focusing on mostly screens and short passes to take advantage of the Bills defensive aggressiveness. I also fully expect a bounce-back game from Derrick Henry as the Giants did a very good job at keeping him contained. We have seen what Henry is capable of and he can explode for game-changing runs at any moment. With that being said, I am rolling with the Titans 1H at +7 (-115) for 1U as I believe Tennesse gets off to a solid start here and keeps this game close for at least the opening 30 minutes.
